Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Moreno.
Cynthia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been practicing Real Estate going on five years. Before Real Estate, I worked as a Manager in fast fashion retail so weekends, holidays, long hours were expected as the Director of a Store. After years of working for someone else, I decided that if I’m going to work this hard, let it be on my OWN business. Many people doubted my decision and asked why would I leave security, guaranteed paychecks, benefits, 401k for a possibility of a check. I ignored the naysayers, took the risk and never looked back. Now the naysayers are the believers. Real Estate has wholeheartedly changed my life, it has taught me how to SAVE, how to Invest, how to create generational wealth and has made me knowledgeable. I’m grateful I get to practice my skillset while helping people accomplish one of the biggest dreams of their lives – The American Dream of Homeownership.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing is ever a smooth road, life is always teaching you things and SURE there have been some serious lessons along the way. You need to have structure, discipline, not be sensitive to rejection, work hard and be honest in everything you do for a phenomenal reputation and great referral base. The biggest adjustment was going from a salary job to now being on 100% commission base. Learning to manage money, store money away for taxes, business expenses and going 2-3 months without a paycheck in my first year was quite the adjustment. Getting used to a “lifestyle” with guaranteed paychecks, then not knowing where your check was going to come was nerve-racking and a lot of people end up quitting the business because of this. You have to continue to push in this business and you need to uphold your reputation for continued success. It is a SMALL world, and relationships are what make you successful ultimately. If you don’t like “chasing,” you’ll demotivate yourself. Believing in yourself is everything, even when you get discouraged, push through, prospect and ABC – Always be closing. It’s like riding a bike, the moment you lose traction, you have to reset, start over and push through again to get to a smooth ride.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I help people with buying, selling, and investing. Whether you are buying your first home for yourself or your family, selling your 3rd home, trying to buy a vacation home or a short-term rental, I can help you with all of it. I specialize in working with many first-time homebuyers and can recommend a great mortgage lender that will have options for you when purchasing for the first time or even a self-employed individual who needs a creative loan options because of how they report their income. I also work with many sellers who are looking to sell a great home and want to showcase it creatively and professionally. I work hand in hand with a great videographer who helps me execute my vision when selling homes. Photo’s simply aren’t enough. Marketing online, using as many social media channels as you can, but also staying trendy, relevant with the times and of interest to a broader audience is what I do. I consider myself an agent who is unique, creative and social media savvy. This ultimately helps me when client finds me online as well. That is what I’m proud of. I’ve learned a lot through my mentors along the way. However, one thing I taught myself was maximizing my social media presence with constant creative post and staying top of mind. I work with passion, and my clients see that. This is why I get positive reviews and referrals through past clients which then earns me yearly rewards as a top producing agent with “EXCELLENCE IN CLIENT SERVICE” two years in a row.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
As I mentioned, I was blessed with great mentors who helped me to be the best in Real Estate with their knowledge, tools and years of experience. Mentors are life’s cheat code. A mentor can help keep you accountable and is something not everyone get’s in life. My mentors have helped accelerate my career because I was open to learning and practiced what they taught. Along with my mentors, I enjoy listening to motivational speeches and practicing guided meditations on youtube. Jim Rohn is one of my favorite speakers. Writing is also a form of therapy that helps me to do my best in life. I love writing down my goals and/or venting in my journal to release some stress. My Journal has got me through it!
