Today we’d like to introduce you to Clark Vautier.
Hi Clark, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in Hamilton, New Zealand, and began my professional journey in Melbourne, Australia as a stockbroking analyst. That experience ignited my interest in business strategy and financial performance. From there, I moved to London and spent several years working in banking and finance, which gave me the opportunity to travel extensively—I’ve since travelled to over 65 countries—and gain a global perspective on markets, leadership, and culture. After moving to the U.S., I studied acting in Los Angeles—a seemingly unconventional step that became transformative. While I didn’t pursue acting professionally, the training helped me find my voice, deepen my emotional intelligence, and develop the communication skills that now serve me in business consulting. For the past 20+ years, I’ve dedicated my career to helping organizations and entrepreneurs grow through strategic marketing, leadership development, and brand storytelling.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like most entrepreneurs, my path hasn’t been linear. I’ve faced health challenges, career pivots, financial setbacks, heartbreak and personal loss. Each experience, though difficult, taught me resilience, adaptability, and the value of perspective. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that growth never happens by accident—it’s a result of consistently choosing to learn, recalibrate, and keep moving forward.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Marketing Consultant and specialize in strategy and leadership development for small to medium sized businesses across a variety of industries. I am proud of bringing new tools and a fresh perspective to my clients in order for them to break through growth plateaus. I utilize a wide ranging tool belt of skills, tactics and frameworks developed over many years. My international experience, combined with a deep understanding of human behavior, differentiates me and allows me to bridge strategy with authenticity—helping my clients build brands that connect and convert.
Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No journey worth taking is ever smooth—and that’s the point. The challenges have been my greatest teachers. It’s easy to stay positive when everything’s going well, but true growth comes from discomfort. I’ve learned to see uncertainty as an ally and to lean into it as a space for creativity, innovation, and personal evolution.
· What else should we know about what you do?
I’m passionate about helping business owners clarify their message, align their teams, and scale with purpose. My work integrates marketing strategy, leadership development, and performance psychology—because lasting success requires both intelligent systems and inspired people. Outside of consulting, I’m an avid adventurer and lifelong learner. I spent 10 years as an ocean kayaking instructor and adventure guide at UCLA, where I taught hundreds of students about teamwork, leadership, and experiential learning. Mountaineering is a passion of mine. I’ve climbed mountains around the world including the highest peaks on 4 continents, which has taught me a great deal about preparation, mindset, and perseverance. Whether in business or on a mountain, I believe success comes from vision, discipline, and the courage to keep climbing.
· Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
For me, happiness isn’t a constant state—it’s a byproduct of living in alignment with one’s values. I focus on fulfillment rather than fleeting happiness: knowing what truly matters, acting with intention, and practicing gratitude. I’m a student of Stoic philosophy and believe that fulfillment comes from growth, contribution, and mastering one’s mindset.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
It goes without saying that AI is the major disruptor of our lifetimes and so I wont dwell on it except to say that survival depends on those most willing to adapt. Is there any pricing information for your services that you wish our readers to know?
My consulting approach is “strategy-first”. Every engagement begins with a deep assessment of where the business currently stands and clarifying its mission, vision, and values before designing a roadmap for growth. Initial consulting engagements begin at $5,000, which typically includes a full strategic audit and actionable marketing plan. From there, I offer tailored ongoing advisory or implementation support designed to meet each client’s goals, budget and stage of growth.
