Hi Chris, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey began on a Chicago basketball court, fueled by a passion inherited from my parents, both high-level hoopers. After completing high school at one of the nation’s top public schools, I was fortunate to earn a Division 1 scholarship to Cal Poly, a period filled with incredible experiences like clinching a conference championship and competing in the NCAA tournament. After graduating with a Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration degree, I took my skills overseas, playing professionally in the Asean Basketball League, Belgium, and Germany.
Despite the thrill of competition, I knew my playing days were finite.

Transitioning to the corporate world was a challenge, a struggle I realized many athletes shared. This sparked the creation of Overtime Solutions, a company dedicated to empowering athletes beyond the game, equipping them with the resources needed to thrive in their next chapter.
Today, Overtime Solutions provides career coaching, financial literacy training, and mental health support, guiding athletes through the complexities of life after sports. This work, and its positive impact on athletes’ lives, is something I’m incredibly passionate about.
But my passion for unlocking potential isn’t limited to athletes.
I also develop leadership programs for college athletic departments and work with corporations to unlock hidden potential, leveraging my unique experience as both an athlete and entrepreneur. I believe leadership principles like focus, resilience, teamwork, and agility are universal, applicable to any field for achieving success.
I’m excited to continue this journey, helping individuals and teams reach new heights and make a lasting impact.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely been a winding one, full of unexpected twists and turns. Like any athlete or entrepreneur, I’ve faced my share of setbacks and challenges.
One of the biggest hurdles as an athlete was navigating the transition from college to the professional world. It was a tough adjustment, trying to figure out my next steps and translate my athletic skills into marketable strengths.
As an entrepreneur, building Overtime Solutions (OS) from the ground up has also been a rollercoaster ride. There have been moments of doubt, financial challenges, and the constant pressure of balancing company aspirations with the needs of the athletes I serve.
And of course, a recent, traumatic knee injury has been a major setback, both physically and emotionally. It’s forced me to confront the reality that my playing days might be over and to re-evaluate my future goals.
But through it all, I’ve learned the importance of resilience, perseverance, and having a strong support system. I’ve discovered that the same qualities that make a successful athlete – discipline, determination, and a positive mindset – make a successful person.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At my core, I’m passionate about empowering people to reach their full potential, especially through leadership development. It’s something I’ve woven through my own journey, from the basketball court to now.
I specialize in helping individuals and teams discover and cultivate their leadership strengths. Whether it’s guiding athletes to translate their on-field experiences into valuable leadership skills or working with corporations to foster a high-performing culture, I’m driven by the belief that everyone has the potential to lead.
One of my proudest achievements has been developing a unique leadership program specifically for student-athletes. This program focuses on key principles like vision, communication, empowerment, and accountability, providing athletes with the tools and mindset to excel in any field.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with people on a personal level, drawing on my own experiences as an athlete and entrepreneur. I believe in a hands-on, interactive approach to leadership development, creating an engaging and transformative learning experience for participants.
If you’re interested in working with me, please don’t hesitate to reach out on social media! My information is at the end of this 🙂
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I definitely believe in taking calculated risks. I call them “educated business decisions.” It’s something I’ve learned both through sports and in building a business.
In sport, you have to be willing to push your limits, try new things, and fail often in order to get better at most aspects of your game. In entrepreneurship, risk-taking is essential for innovation and progress. You can’t be afraid to fail forward.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was pursuing my passion for helping corporate organizations scale their people programs and empowering leadership teams. It was a leap of faith, but I felt strongly considering my ability to impact decision makers to become more empathetic to their employees.
Recently, I also took a risk by undergoing a major surgery with a significant mortality rate to save my leg and regain a higher quality of life.
When evaluating risk, I consider the potential rewards and the potential consequences. Is the risk worth the reward? I trust my hardened instincts and rely on my support system to help me make informed decisions. It’s safe to say it’s worked out for me!
