Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Spack.
Hi Chelsea, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from St. Louis, MO! I grew up watching old movies and had a very artistic education, and studied theatre and then went to study acting at Rutgers acting conservatory. From there, I moved to NYC for five years and then came to LA a couple of years ago!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
You know, the longer I live, the more convinced I am that so much of life is how we choose to look at things. Life isn’t easy but I’m learning how to love my life by noticing and appreciating all the good. My family and I went through a lot of hardships early on—I think that gave me grit and a “never give up” attitude at a young age. And an unshakeable faith!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an actress, writer, and more recently director, author, and podcaster! Acting is my main thing, but I’ve realized I also love directing and making my own films. I’m in pre-production for my 2nd short film, I recently published an ebook called Love Your Life: How To Stay Inspired and Feel Creative,, and launched a podcast! Both the book and the podcast came from seasons of working to keep myself inspired and creative when it wasn’t easy. I’ve learned there are some simple, practical things I can do to enjoy my life more, feel more joyful and present, and ultimately be a better version of myself! So I decided to share what I’ve learned with others. I think it’s so important to be inspired; when we are lit up from within, we positively impact the people around us! It’s like the kindness ripple effect: one small act of kindness can change the world because when you’re kind to someone, chances are they’ll be more kind to the next person, and so on and so forth. When we are inspired and joyful and enjoying our lives, we are able to more positively impact those around us.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I LOVE L.A.!! I’m convinced, however, that a city or place can’t make you happy. So I’ve learned to be happy no matter where I am. I think you enjoy the special places more when you also know how to enjoy the middle of nowhere. L.A. has such a cool vibe. I love my morning walks here. I live on the Westside and love breathing in that ocean air. I also love all the amazing coffee shops and restaurants. And the people! It’s so fun being surrounded by so many creatives. And I love the Santa Ana winds!
