Daily Inspiration: Meet Chance Davis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chance Davis.

Hi Chance, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I got to where I am today by taking a leap of faith, leaving Dallas, TX and becoming bi-coastal to NYC to LA.

My first official styling opportunity was a Sean John Dream Big campaign where I assisted my mentors Micah & Wayman.

From there, my career took off with KeKe Palmer as a stylist/executive assistant and opened doors for me in TV / Film industry, making me a costume designer and red carpet stylist.

While living in LA working on major ad campaigns, I was booked on a legendary tour as wardrobe stylist for Guy + Dancers + Keith Sweat.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My journey has not been a smooth road. A few struggles I’ve dealt with along the way were with networking, staying true to myself, identifying my lane, and the array of personalities in the industry.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a wardrobe stylist. I dress high-profile individuals for red carpets, music videos, press runs, tours, and movies.

I specialize in listening to my client’s image needs and visualizing what that looks like with current fashion trends.

I’m known for my minimalistic aesthetic with a flare.

I’m most proud of my success the last ten years as an independent freelance wardrobe stylist.

My ability to source exclusive wardrobe pieces for my clients that elevate their image is what sets me apart from others.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
The role of luck hasn’t really been a factor in my life. As long as I’m able to do what I love daily and stay true to myself, I know the opportunities can only get bigger and better.
