Today we’d like to introduce you to Celine Obone.
Hi Celine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My brand Belle Perle was born out of necessity. I was styling an outfit and couldn’t find a corset that felt elevated; something luxurious, structured, and stylish, without looking like lingerie. After searching and coming up short, I realized there was a gap in the market for beautifully made, versatile corsets that could be worn confidently as part of everyday fashion. That’s when I decided to create the brand I had been looking for.
I’ve always been drawn to classic fashion and old-world craftsmanship. The timelessness of corsets, combined with my love for classic art, heavily influenced the aesthetic and direction of Belle Perle. From the start, I knew I wanted to build a brand rooted in elegance, quality, and intentional design. That meant curating only the finest materials, like French lace, Italian satin, and the elite craftsmanship found in Italian ateliers.
Even as the brand grows, my vision remains the same: to celebrate the beauty of a woman’s silhouette through luxury essentials that feel both timeless and modern. Belle Perle is for women who want to feel powerful, sexy, and effortlessly stylish wrapped in quality, structure, and artful detail.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road definitely hasn’t been entirely smooth, but every challenge has shaped the brand in meaningful ways.
I started developing Belle Perle during the height of COVID, which presented its own set of obstacles. Especially when it came to sourcing materials. Originally, my plan was to produce everything locally in LA, being an LA-based brand. But I quickly realized it was incredibly difficult to find a manufacturer with the level of finesse and corsetry expertise I was looking for.
That delayed the development process quite a bit. Thankfully, I eventually connected with an incredible atelier just outside of Milan. They truly understood my vision and had the craftsmanship needed to bring Belle Perle to life with precision and care.
Of course, working primarily with European partners introduces its own challenges. Delivery timing, customs delays, and extended quality control processes. It requires constant communication, flexibility, and problem-solving. At the moment, one of the biggest hurdles is finding the right way to communicate the brand and product to my niche audience, all while managing ongoing tariff issues that many business owners are dealing with right now.
Still, I view these challenges as part of the creative journey. The product and purpose behind Belle Perle make it all worthwhile and in many ways, navigating these obstacles has been just as rewarding as the wins.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At my core, I’m a fashion lover. It’s what drives my imagination and fuels everything I do. While I studied business in school and gained experience working and interning in showrooms, retail, and styling, I always knew I wanted to create something of my own something intentional, expressive, and rooted in craftsmanship.
Styling has always been my happy place, but I’m most proud of Belle Perle. It’s been years in the making and truly represents my vision: a brand that honors the elegance of the female form while wrapping it in the most exquisite fabrics, French lace, Italian satin and showcasing timeless silhouettes, especially through structured corsetry.
What sets Belle Perle apart is its commitment to quality, femininity, and detail. Every piece is thoughtfully designed to make a woman feel beautiful, confident, and empowered. It’s more than fashion it’s a celebration of the art of dressing.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about LA is its diversity and creative energy. The city’s multiculturalism has shaped me deeply it’s inclusive, expressive, and full of inspiration, from the fashion scene to the music. And of course, the weather and landscape make it feel like the best place in the world to live and create.
What I like least is the homelessness crisis. It’s a serious issue, and I truly hope we can find meaningful, collective solutions as a community.
