Daily Inspiration: Meet Cameron Davison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Davison.

Cameron Davison

Hi Cameron, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a 31-year-old who was laid off due to the Writer’s strike in July. My ex-girlfriend and I broke up, so I decided to sublet in Santa Monica for the summer and go from there. After the sublease expired in late Sept, I booked a one-way ticket to Bangkok, and I’ve been traveling all thru SE Asia since.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Lots of hiccups. Lots of mistakes—motorbike crashes, Airbnbs that fell thru, hotels that weren’t as advertised, Bali belly, the worst seasonal flu of my life, etc. I wouldn’t trade any experience for anything. Solo travel takes a bit to get accustomed to, but once you find that rhythm, it’s the most liberating feeling imaginable.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I worked in production for an A-list design studio based in LA. It was all remote. It was painfully boring and uninspiring. Before that, I had produced some successful documentaries—Fyre Fraud being the most prominent.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Always playing sports, always active, generally speaking a happy child.
