Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Rugimbana
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up in a household with a Dad who was an accomplished Professor in marketing, different aspects of communications quickly became my passion, which led me to pursue a degree in Communications majoring in Public Relations in 2009.
From here I gained experience in the industry before starting my own agency, BMRPR – a full-service agency working with clients in the USA, Australia and the UK. In August 2023, after the passing of my beloved Dad who encouraged me to start the agency, I took a 1 year hiatus and now as 2025 approaches, I’m excited to get back into the game with brand new opportunities, new clients on board and exciting plans to travel, while opening up a new office in the USA.
Over the years, our clients have trusted BMRPR to help them develop and grow their individual brands and companies successfully, so it’s a great feeling to be back in my element. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with past clients, building with new clients, while also welcoming two new Australian clients to commence in early 2025!
Each year, both personally and professionally has brought new experiences and challenges but I’ve found the best way to navigate through each up and down is to remember why you started, remember your long term goals and re-route your plan to adjust as you need to. This industry itself is fast-paced and challenging, so being able to adapt to any situation or environment has been necessary to my growth and success, and also allows me to support our clients in the best way possible.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There is never “smooth sailing” in business or on the road to your own success. There will always be challenges and unexpected losses or twists, but it’s how you choose to react and work through those challenges that define your next steps. When the agency first began, being based in Australia was a challenge. With majority of my clients in America, I had to quickly adjust to different timezones, however with a plan of action and organized schedule in place, it was a smooth transition and I was able to continue delivering the services each client required.
When you work in the communications industry, especially in PR, being a ‘people person’ is important. You also meet different personalities everyday, which is an interesting challenge. There will always be ‘someone’ who doesn’t agree with you, maybe ‘someone’ who doesn’t like you, and ‘someone’ who doesn’t see things from your perspective which is an obstacle that I’ve had to work through many times to find a solution.
These things aren’t always easy, but it comes with the territory. Any obstacle can be overcome as long as you stay focused on what you can control and what the bigger picture means for you; from there everything else is just a learning experience.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
BMRPR is an agency specializing in public relations and marketing. BMRPR has worked on a variety of projects and collaborations at all levels and we are dedicated to ensuring the success of each individual person and project we have the opportunity to work with or on, handling each individual project, event, opportunity and client, with professionalism, care, and originality. BMRPR has built a solid reputation and have developed great relationships and contacts within multiple industries, specifically the entertainment and sports industries.
Personally, I also pride the business on the fact that it was built from the ground up through nothing but hard work, late nights, personal research and being relentless each day – no matter how many “NO’s” or failures came my way. Being an international agency and working around the clock for all clients, I pride myself on being able to deliver those results despite any timezone or distance. No matter what has to be done, BMRPR won’t stop until we’re able to achieve that result for each client.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
With evolving technologies such as Ai and the way social media is being used today, there has been fleeting conversations of these tools taking over the communications industry in all areas. These tools are great additions for any individual or company, but in my opinion they can’t replace human interaction, dedication, care and understanding of a brand. In the next 5-10 years, I am looking forward to seeing how these tools can further support communication professionals like myself and how the industry continues to evolve with access to these types of technologies.
