Daily Inspiration: Meet Becky Hammond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Becky Hammond

Hi Becky , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Working for someone else is a fine way to make a living but I was tired of putting all my time and energy into making someone else’s dream successful. My husband is an extremely talented actor, writer and director. He moved out to Hollywood to pursue his dream, like so many. But, after some minor roles and many broken promises, he also was making a living working for someone else. I knew that YouTube was an opportunity for us to show his talent and share our love for professional wrestling with a community larger than ourselves. After having a not so successful channel, with a mix of Comedy Spoofs and Professional Wrestling Reviews, we split them and relaunched. We started the Wrestling Channel over from Ground Zero and 4 years later we are a success and steadily growing. We love our community and they love each other. It’s alot of work, lot more than people give YouTubers credit for but, we are now putting our time and talent into our own dreams. We are focusing on the Wrestling Channel for now but, we will be picking up the comedy channel again soon, as it was so much fun.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Finding the time to film and edit when we both had full-time jobs was extremely challenging however, Covid presented us with an interesting and timely opportunity. Because of the lock down, we were able to film, edit and work from home. We soon realized that these full-time jobs were funding our dreams and this lockdown magically gave us time to do them simultaneously.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My husband and I have YouTube channels called A&B Convos(our comedy channel) and A & B Convos Wrestling Edition. We are proud of the inclusion that our community brings to wrestling fans who can get lost in a toxic environment of bullying. Our channel is a safe space for fans of all type to come together without fear of bullying. We pride ourselves on a family-friendly show

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I enjoyed professional wrestling as a child. It was so wild and fun. But, growing up was very challenging. I wasn’t able to be a kid for long. We moved around a lot and I struggled with a personality disorder that wasn’t well understood. Therefore, I found myself trying to change constantly to be someone who I thought people might accept. I did not really understand how to find myself, who I was created to be. I’ve always been different and enjoyed fashion and funky hairstyles but it took me a while to embrace it all. I now look at my style as a canvas to express my creativity.
