Daily Inspiration: Meet Ava Kolker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ava Kolker.

Ava Kolker

Hi Ava, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a 16-year-old actress, singer, and content creator! You might know me from the Disney Channel. I played Ava Morgenstern on Girl Meets World and Olive Rozalski on Sydney to the Max! You can also stream my music on Spotify by my artist name Ava Kolker <3

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road, necessarily. I think it’s always important to overcome obstacles to reach your goals! The acting industry can be a very competitive and difficult industry. All of the rejection can definitely make it a frustrating journey at times. But I have been super fortunate to work on some incredible projects along the way, which have made it worthwhile! I have learned to stay positive in difficult times and take those times as an opportunity to reflect and dig deep inside to see how I can improve myself versus having a negative outlook and getting sad about certain results/feedback.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
l am an actress, singer, and content creator! I incorporate my creativity in everything I do. From becoming a character to writing songs from the most vulnerable place in my heart to posting comedy on social media, I am always finding different ways to express myself.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I have learned many lessons along the way, but I’d say one of the most important ones is a saying from my mom: “The journey is the destination.” I feel that I can be so focused and set on a goal that I forget to enjoy the present/journey. With all the ups and downs and failures and successes, it is important to take a step back and live in the now.
