Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Franklin.
Hi Ashley, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ever since I was young, I had an obsession with taking photos of anything and everything. I wanted to capture all the moments I could because I felt as though life was moving too quickly and if I didn’t capture it, it would slip away in my memory and be gone forever. I always had a camera in my hand matter the occasion. After High School, I bought my first DSLR camera and I asked a local photographer if I could be a second shooter for one of her weddings, and that is where it all started. My passion for wedding photography came alive and I’ve been photographing couples and weddings in Southern California for over 13 years now. It has been quite a journey, I’ve learned so much over the years and have met so many wonderful people. My goal as a wedding photographer is to give my clients the absolute best wedding photography experience they could dream of. From the first email to the final gallery delivered, I am in their corner and love to serve them in any and all ways that I can.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Photography was always my passion, but it wasn’t where I thought my future would be. I stepped back from photography for a couple of years and went to school to be a biochemist. After graduation, something was pulling me back to photography so I started up again and I struggled for a long time to get clients. Photography is such a saturated industry and it seems as though everyone is trying to do it. I was extremely discouraged because I thought I was creating magical photos, but I wasn’t getting the business I needed or wanted to continue my dream of being a full-time photographer. But, over the years I have gained exposure and have built a strong client base through hard work and dedication. Every year I set my goals higher and higher within my business so I can better myself and my client experience.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Southern California based photographer who specializes in adventure sessions and wedding photography. I find so much joy in capturing love stories and creating moments that last a lifetime. I am extremely proud of the small business I have created, the magic I create with couples, and all the hard work I have put into giving my clients the best photography experience possible. I believe photos are not about what you see, but about what you feel. I want my clients to look at their photos ten years down the road and remember what they felt that day, marrying their best friend. I strive to capture the in-between moments. The moments that make you feel something, the moments that take your breath away.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned along the way is that customer service is everything. It is so important to go above and beyond for the people who choose me to capture their big day. I do not take my job lightly. I love being that third wheel as I capture a wedding day from start to finish.
