Hi Antonella, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in Italy, I owned a jewelry boutique and workshop established by my father in Genoa’s historic goldsmith district, Via degli Orefici, which means “Goldsmiths’ Street.” For centuries, this area has been the city’s heart of fine jewelry making, where artisans craft beautiful pieces entirely by hand.
There, I loved working with gold, an extraordinary and fascinating metal, designing new pieces, and choosing natural gemstones for my jewelry. Immersed in that world, I developed a knowledge of the craft and a respect for the work of the independent artisans who, following centuries-old traditions, create jewelry by hand with love and passion. I’ve always admired the jewelry of the “botteghe orafe”, the traditional workshops where skill, craftsmanship, and beauty are passed down through generations, a form of luxury that stands apart from mass production.
Twenty years ago, I moved to New York because of my husband’s business, and later to Los Angeles. Over time, I began to dream of bringing the Italian spirit of everyday elegance, the artistry and tradition of Italian goldsmithing, to modern women here.
That vision became Via Orefici Jewelry, named after my hometown’s Goldsmiths’ Street, a timeless fine-jewelry line that bridges heritage and contemporary elegance through authentic Italian craftsmanship.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building a fine-jewelry brand handmade by independent artisans in Italy while living in the United States is both rewarding and demanding. Coordinating design, production, and logistics requires expertise, communication, and a constant commitment to maintaining the high standards of Italian goldsmithing.
Another challenge is visibility. Via Orefici speaks to discerning women who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and subtle luxury as a way to express their personality and style. Helping clients appreciate the value of jewelry that carries a story, a tradition, and the human touch of the artisan takes time and education.
I’m growing organically through private trunk shows, personal connections, and developing boutique collaborations. This intimate approach reflects the spirit of the brand and my vision to offer women something lasting, jewelry that feels personal and authentic.

I am the Founder of Via Orefici Jewelry.
Via Orefici Jewelry is based in Los Angeles but handmade in Italy. Each piece is designed or curated by me and crafted by skilled Italian artisans using 18-karat gold (recycled whenever possible), sterling silver, and natural gemstones.
The brand embodies the Italian approach to jewelry: effortless elegance, timeless luxury, transparent value, and authenticity; pieces that transition seamlessly from morning to evening and become part of a woman’s everyday life.
I showcase the collections through trunk shows and private appointments, boutique collaborations, and fundraising events. My goal is to bring clients closer to the artistry and spirit of the botteghe orafe that inspire the brand.
