Experience & Education
Dr. Anthony Britton is a graduate from the Doctorate of Chiropractic program at the Southern California University of Health Sciences in Whittier California. There he was educated in both the diagnostic and practical clinical skills of Chiropractic.
He also holds a diploma from the Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma Program at Capilano University in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The Administrative Gauntlet
The initial challenge of setting up a healthcare practice in California was immense. The biggest learning curve wasn’t clinical; it was the operational side. I started the business with very little knowledge of insurance billing, coding, and the complex payment systems.
The struggle was figuring out how to master this administrative gauntlet while ensuring that my primary focus remained entirely on patient care and clinical excellence. I had to teach myself how to navigate California’s stringent healthcare rules and marketing requirements simultaneously just to keep the doors open and establish my reputation in the community.
Surviving the Pandemic
The other massive hurdle was the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many small businesses, it hit us hard and severely impacted our operations and patient flow. It has taken a long time to truly recover from that impact and rebuild the practice’s stability.
Fortunately, it’s a wonderful sign of our community’s trust that many of our patients have returned to the clinic and are back on their regular wellness routines. That recovery is a testament to the relationships we’ve built.
Innovating for Accessibility
Finally, we recognized that many people in our community have insurance plans that simply aren’t adequate or have medical needs that exceed the limited ability of their coverage. To ensure everyone has access to the care they need, we had to innovate. We developed special products and packages outside the traditional insurance model to remove those financial barriers and make our essential chiropractic and wellness services more accessible.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What Sets Me Apart: From ICU to Chiropractic
What truly distinguishes my practice is my extensive prior background in rehabilitation care. Before becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic, I worked in hospitals alongside medical teams in intense environments like the ICU, acute neuro-rehab, and acute orthopedic trauma. I worked directly with patients recovering from stroke, spinal cord injuries, and amputations.
This experience provided me with a depth of knowledge—and more importantly, a deep empathy—that few chiropractors possess.
A Full-Spectrum View: When I see a patient today, I understand the entire healthcare journey, from the moment a severe injury occurs all the way through long-term recovery. This gives me a full perspective on the continuum of health care.
The Power of Early Intervention: Because I’ve worked with patients in the most serious, late stages of their recovery, I passionately believe in the power of early intervention. I recognize the critical importance of getting people healthy before they require complex medical care. I am meeting my current patients at a much earlier phase of the healthcare system, allowing me to be proactive rather than strictly reactive.
My Proudest Achievement
I am most proud of my ability to take that clinical knowledge and compassion and translate it into tangible, functional results for my patients.
This includes developing systems like my proprietary “Recovery Rx” stretching protocols. Seeing patients integrate these early interventions into their daily lives and regain functional movement—whether it’s an athlete returning to competition or a parent being able to lift their child without pain—is incredibly rewarding. By helping people achieve sustainable wellness and function, I feel I’m fulfilling the ultimate goal of my career: helping people live happier, healthier, and more functional lives.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Outside of my athletic and chiropractic career, a lot of people are surprised to learn that for a period in the early 2000s, I was heavily involved in television production in Vancouver. I served as an Executive Producer for ‘Pass Da Mic,’ which was Vancouver’s only dedicated hip-hop television show on Shaw TV. It was a massive operation where I had to wear many hats—managing the entire production while also hosting on-camera interviews. That experience required next-level multitasking, project management, and community networking, all skills I use every day running a clinic. We were fortunate enough to interview and host many acclaimed artists and personalities, including major names like Fat Joe, Lil Jon, Tom Green, Russell Simmons, members of The Dogg Pound, and Paul Wall. It was a chaotic, high-energy environment that taught me how to lead a team and maintain excellence under pressure.”
