Daily Inspiration: Meet Angel Princess

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Princess.

Hi Angel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, I was born and raised in the Midwest but I’ve always been passionate about the entertainment industry. I was homeschooled and graduated high school at 14 and started college at 15. I moved to Hollywood when I was about 18. I was living in Florida at the time, so I put college on hold and decided to pursue a career in acting. I got my SAG card two years after I started doing extra work. That was basically when I realized that I wanted to take it more seriously.

My mom opened a casting agency in 2007 and I worked with her for a few years before booking supporting roles in short films and web series. I’m at the point now in my career where I get offered the roles instead of auditioning so I truly feel blessed. I begin shooting my first feature film in February which I’m pretty excited about. Not only will I be acting in this project, but I’m also the associate producer. The film is called “The Paradise Motel” and it’s a horror flick where I play a killer. It was written by award-winning producer and director Walter Hochbrueckner. And even though my character is only a supporting role, she still has a very significant part throughout the storyline. I’m really looking forward to sharing it with everyone. My main goal is to just keep progressing within my career and creating projects that my fans will enjoy, even if it is at a gradual pace. I live to inspire and motivate others around me as well. You just have to follow your dreams and never give up!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. The struggle was definitely real whenever I first moved out to Hollywood in 2004 with my mom and two brothers. Our car didn’t end up getting transported for a few months so I remember waiting at the bus stops just to get from point A to point B and it would take hours. There were so many homeless people and I experienced things in the city that I never experienced before in the suburbs where I grew up. We didn’t know anybody and financially LA can drain you (as everyone obviously knows). So I just worked a bunch of odd end jobs, babysitting or what not to make ends meet while still focusing on my career. We worked on a bunch of audience shows and extra jobs in the beginning. I didn’t want to take a full-time job because I wanted the flexibility with my schedule for auditions and such. We just kept hustling and networking until my mom finally opened her own casting agency in 2007. It was all about teamwork honestly. As they say, teamwork makes the dream work so that’s what we did. After that, things just sort of took off from there.

Now I’m able to pick and choose what projects I want to work on which is exciting because I just get offers handed to me. But as far as auditions go, the rejection only makes me want to work harder. I try to turn all my negatives into positives so whenever I don’t book the role, I look at it as a learning experience to improve on my craft and I remind myself that something better is waiting for me. All the opportunities I’ve come across in the past 16 years has been amazing and I wouldn’t trade my struggles in for the world because it truly humbles you. I love challenges by the way, so this industry is perfect for me… if something is too easily achieved then I get bored. I’ve always been that way, maybe because I’m a dreamer. But I’ve met so many incredible people along the way as well and I’m just truly grateful to be where I’m at today!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an actress and model. I’ve worked on everything from music videos to tv shows to commercials to films. You can check out all my credits on IMDb. My main goal is to focus on more leading roles in feature films, however I’m not opposed to supporting roles if I like the character in the script. I’ve starred in a web series and some short films, but feature films is what I mostly want to be known for. Joining the union (Screen Actors Guild) is the one thing I’m most proud of throughout my entire career because it’s something I’ve worked so hard for. I do dream of winning an Oscar one day so I feel blessed to be a part of the union! I believe what sets me apart from other actresses is my distinctive looks and unique sense of style as well as my outgoing, friendly personality. I’m very persistent and I never stop until I get what I want, so I have a really driven mindset. I’m also known to dance all the time whenever I’m not acting, and that’s something that’s different. Most actresses aren’t typically dancers (I don’t think) so I guess you could consider me a triple threat which is kind of rare!

What matters most to you?
My career, health, family, friends and fans matter most to me because I love to entertain. That is my purpose here on earth. I’ve dreamed of being a star ever since I was a little girl. All I’ve ever known was being on stage or in front of the camera. I was very involved in dance and beauty pageants when I was younger, so I’ve always been used to the limelight. Show business is my entire life and I honestly can’t see myself doing anything else. I have such a creative mindset and I was born to share my passion with the world. I know that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life, create films that people can relate to whether it be acting, producing, directing, or writing. I want to accomplish it all, one day!
