Hi Andrey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
First of all, thank you for this opportunity to share my story with you. At 22, I discovered my passion for photography, which seamlessly intertwined with my love for travel, leading me to create my brand ‘Photravel.’ Over the years, I’ve explored more than 30 countries, often immersing myself in local cultures for months. This deep connection to my experiences inspired me to publish travel books filled with unfiltered photographs that capture each destination’s true essence. My journey began in 2016 with my first book, Thailand: A Country of Smiles, followed by Los Angeles: A City of Fame—my favorite city in the world, though I find beauty in every corner of the globe. Since then, I’ve released 19 more titles, showcasing various cities and countries, with some of my books available in select Barnes & Noble locations. I remain committed to sharing my experiences through my photography and am excited about the new projects and ideas that await.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
While my passion for photography and travel has always been genuine, I faced challenges in figuring out how to share my work with the world. For months, I pondered this until the idea of publishing travel books emerged. This journey required me to learn the ins and outs of publishing, including design and vision—an intriguing yet daunting process. Initially, I can’t say my first or second books were successful, as I invested more money in their production than I made in sales. However, my passion and the supportive individuals I met along the way fueled my determination to continue publishing. After my tenth book, I began to see improved sales, and in 2022, Barnes & Noble featured some of my work in several stores around the Los Angeles area. This acknowledgment has provided me with renewed motivation to keep creating and sharing my books.

My work centers around merging my passions for photography and travel into a vibrant collection of travel books under my brand ‘Photravel.’ I believe that one photo is worth a thousand words, and I specialize in capturing the essence of each destination through unfiltered photographs, allowing readers to experience the world as I have. Known for blending beautiful imagery with personal storytelling, I provide a deeper connection to the places I explore. I’m proud of the meaningful relationships and experiences I’ve gained from my travels, along with the recognition my work has received, including having some of my books featured in Barnes & Noble. My commitment to authenticity sets me apart; I strive to document each location through a genuine lens, inviting readers to engage with the real beauty of the world. As I continue this journey, I aim to inspire others to explore and appreciate the diverse cultures and landscapes that our world has to offer.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe the most important quality that has contributed to my success is my passion and perseverance. My passion for photography and travel drives me to keep creating and sharing my work, even when faced with challenges or setbacks. I believe in God, who created this world and inspires me through His love and the remarkable people He has placed in my life. My perseverance has allowed me to push through obstacles, learn from them, and use them as opportunities for growth. This combination of passion, faith, and perseverance has enabled me to stay committed to my vision and continue producing high-quality work that resonates with others.
