Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrés Salvatierra.
Hi Andrés, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Andrés Salvatierra. I am a Bolivian singer, songwriter, and artist. I started singing when I was 4 years old. I come from a very musically inclined family, so that for sure had a big impact on me. My dad also sings, and my mom produces shows in Bolivia, so I grew up seeing musicals and shows being made. On top of that, my family in general really likes music, and there is always music playing in the house. I started performing at around 7 years old and never really stopped since. I have been part of different musicals, shows, and concerts. I started more around the musical theatre world, and then as I grew up, I shifted more into pop and contemporary music, which is what I currently do and the main genre of my solo project. In 2022, at 18 years old, I was recognized by the Bolivian government as Young Pop Singer Revelation for my contributions to culture and the arts.
In 2023, I decided to move to Los Angeles to take the next step in my music journey and start my solo career. This experience was incredible and one of the most fulfilling I ever had and basically the start of what Andrés Salvatierra the artist is. I attended Musicians Institute and had the opportunity to collaborate with a number of people in the industry. I had the opportunity to be mentored by Grammy, Emmy, and Oscar-nominated songwriter Allan Rich, as well as celebrity vocal coaches Debra Byrd and Eric Copeland. Alongside my producer Jorge Blanco, in September 2023, I released my debut single Echoes of Doubt. The reception for the debut single was strong and very good from the moment it was released. That same year, I got nominated for the Bolivia Music Awards as Best Emerging Artist.
Further on, I worked on the next singles of my project, also produced by Jorge Blanco (key person on my solo project). In May 2024, Poco A Poco was released, my first single in Spanish, allowing me to expand into the Latin music market. Along with that, also in 2024, I was cast to be part of the Bolivian production of Les Misérables, starring as Marius, touching back with my musical theatre roots.
Later on, my latest and most recent single Timeless was released in November 2024. Timeless is a power pop song that I am sure everyone can ejoy both from the music and storytelling side. Currently, my team and I are working on new music and projects that will be announced soon! We are very excited for everyone to see what is to come!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For sure no, I think that anybody that works as an artist or it is part of this industry can agree that the path is never smooth. There are always challenges in different ways. I think the first one for me was having to move abroad, move my life to a new city, a new country far from home. I realized that if I wanted to start a career in music it had to be in a bigger place, somewhere that I could have the opportunities I was looking which was not home. Moving at 19 was a very big challenge for me I had to adapt to many different things that I was not used to but I knew it was for the best. But if I have to talk about one of the biggest challenges in my career it was finding and writing my debut single. Once I was in LA I wanted to start working on my solo project which meant working on songs of my own. I would sit in the piano or grab my guitar but nothing that I would come up with was something I liked as my first song. That block went on for multiple days and it started to get very frustrating, doubts started to arise and I felt stuck, I felt like I could not advance. But after some time one day I was in my room playing the guitar and what would later be my debut single Echoes of Doubt came to life. From there everything started to feel better and everything was starting to work out. I met my producer Jorge Blanco and we started working on this project. I was able to work and collaborate with people like grammy nominated songwriter Allan Rich, celebrity vocal coach Debra Byrd among others. Time went by and the song got released having a great reception from the first moment. Everything turned out just how I was looking forward to, but at one moment it was very frustrating and it seemed so far, in fact I was not even sure if I was ever going to get where I am now. So it is definitely not a smooth road, there are always challenges even now, but I love what I do and it is about facing those challenges, learn from them, and always grow.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is the people around me. Starting with my family, they have always been there for me, and nothing I’ve accomplished would have been possible without their support. From the very beginning, when I decided to pursue music, they believed in me wholeheartedly.
It’s not just family, though. My friends back home in La Paz, peers, mentora, my voice teachers, and everyone who knew me long before I was ‘Andrés Salvatierra the artist’. Their encouragement shaped me and gave me the confidence to take this path.
Along the way, I’ve also been fortunate to meet incredible people in Los Angeles. My producer, Jorge Blanco, who I call the architect of this project, my sound , designers, mentors like Allan Rich, Eric Copeland, among many more increíble people — they’ve all been key in helping me bring my vision to life. I’ve learned that this career is never a solo journey; it’s built on teamwork, trust, and collaboration.
What matters most to me, then, are those people who see me not just as an artist, but as the person behind it. I feel lucky and grateful to be surrounded by people who believe in me and support me, not just for the music, but for who I am.
