Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Pardo.
Hi Andrea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a proud daughter of two immigrant parents who came here to Los Angeles from El Salvador and Guatemala to chase the American dream and have a chance to a better life. I watched my parents work really hard to provide us with the best life they could. They taught me at an early age the value of hard work and that has carried me on throughout my life. I am a first generation graduate to receive my bachelors degree and I owe that to all the sacrifices my parents did for me. Now in my adult life I have a full time corporate job as a recruiter and I love being able to help others start a new career opportunity. I am a mom of two boys and a wife as well. Family is everything to me. After I became a mom I sort of lost myself a little in the sense that my body had changed. So I started a social media page to help women from all walks of life, and share with them my casual style, in hopes that women could relate to me. Being on social media has allowed me to connect with so many different beautiful women who I’ve learned are also going through the same things as me. I wear my heart on my sleeve, I love connecting with others, helping others, and I’m inspired daily by what all women do on daily basis to keep themselves going. During the week you will find me working my normal corporate job while balancing family responsibilities, and on the weekends I am spending time with loved ones and also trying to gather my content for social media. And I’m so blessed to live in the beautiful city of Los Angeles where the weather is literally quite perfect.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My mom became a single mom when I was 5. My dad was present but my mom had us most of the time. She was a single mom of 3 girls and I watched her really grind daily to keep a roof over our heads. As I look back now I truly don’t know how she did it some days. We moved a lot when we were little and back then I didn’t realize it. But my mom was struggling financially and somehow she always manage to push through. She is literally the strongest person I know. And I owe all of my resilience to her.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In my professional career I am a recruiter and i absolutely love what I do. I love being able to help someone find their career and watch them flourish. I take pride in my work and have been recognized as a top performer consistently. I love being challenged and I love winning at a high level.
I also do content creating on the side and that’s really passion project. When I became a mom I sort of lost my sense of style. And I felt that be my body changed I couldn’t wear certain pieces or felt self conscious. So I started my page on instagram to showcase casual outfits as a midsize mom. I’ve been able to connect with women who have gone through this as well. The community I am building on here is what makes me keep going. If I can help relate, inspire, connect, give advice to women like me- that is what makes this journey so special.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Gosh, I have so many. One of my favorite memories growing up was going to the beach every other weekend with my dad and sisters. We would be at the beach all day, in the water, playing in the sand, and it was just the best day ever. It was special for us.
