Daily Inspiration: Meet Amy Evans

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Evans.

Hi Amy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Orange County, California. I went to college in San Francisco and then moved to Los Angeles after I earned my degrees in English Literature and French. My entire professional life has been in LA. I had some crazy experiences in my 20s – working for a crisis management PR firm, a business management firm and a billionaire. In my 30s, the insurance industry found me, and I eventually became an employee benefits broker, working with business owners who want to provide health insurance and other benefits to their employees. In 2016, I started my own insurance agency, and in 2021 it was acquired by an international fintech company. I am now partnered with that company and I continue to use my 20+ years of experience in the insurance industry to simplify employee benefits for my clients.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
College was pretty smooth, my 20s were a mess, and I’ve been successfully adulting since my 30s. My entire insurance career has been commissioned sales, which at times has been challenging, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything else.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work with small and mid-sized businesses in Southern California that want to contain rising employee benefits costs, attract and retain quality employees with competitive employee benefits and use technology to simplify their employee benefits administration. I am really good at simplifying the employee benefits process for employers and their employees.

I am proud of the fact that I have stayed focused on the needs of Southern California-based businesses. The employee benefits market in Southern California is unique and complex. There are market conditions here that don’t exist anywhere else, and it’s important to know how to navigate those conditions to get the best results for my clients.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is of my second birthday, which was my first of many trips to Disneyland. I remember Snow White walking up to me and thinking she was the most beautiful person I had ever seen.
