Daily Inspiration: Meet Alexis Ramirez Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Ramirez Jackson.

Hi Alexis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Once upon a time, there was this little Latina girl named Alexis that lived in the projects of NYC… okay, let me stop! This isn’t a fairy tale more like a horror story. I was raised without a father not because my mother didn’t choose to but because he chose not to be in my life and create another family with someone else. I was always trapped in my castle on the 23rd floor because I lived in a very bad neighborhood with tons of dragons but no slayer. I was bullied most of my life. When I was able to leave the castle on my own, I got jumped and bullied because of the way I looked from my body (being too thick and my body at the time wasn’t accepted), my face (big forehead, acne, big nose) and to the color of my skin. You’re probably asking why skin you’re white? And that was the reason because people thought I was lying because of my nationality and I wasn’t welcomed where I lived. To be honest, maybe it’s because at the time I talked like Hilary Banks off fresh prince of bel air.

I was rapped at the age of 11 (a great way to lose your virginity), molested most of my life as a child and as an adult, I was in a very abusive (emotionally and physically) relationship. So pretty much my life was a huge shit show that caused me to have BPD (borderline personality disorder), anxiety and I have ADHD but not because of all the traumatic events that happened in my life (that’s just DNA). You’re probably wondering is that it? No, it isn’t silly. After all this happened, I didn’t know who I was as a person, I was lost. All I saw was darkness. For me, to erase the memories and live in the moment. I had to drink and that’s when I became an alcoholic, a binge smoker, and suicidal. I was becoming the darkness that I saw, but my daughter was so full of bright light that’s when I decided to not give up on myself or on her. She needed a strong mother and someone to protect her, because of her I CHANGED! So one of my coping mechanisms was Dancing, taking herbs such as teas, working out, just living the one life that I have! the beach helped with that one. OH! and how can I forget social media. Who would of thought. The more I shared myself and my story, the more I saw I wasn’t alone and that there were people just like me!

So, fast forward to my life now. How am I? I’m fucking GREAT! my life, my story has led me to be THE FOXY BAD ASS I am today. I became my own slayer that defeated all the dragons and no one can take that away from me!

I started this brand #FOXGANG where all my foxes can show up as they are. it doesn’t matter what size body you have, what you look like, what color skin you have if you have disability if you gay or straight, you have a mental health condition, if you have mental breakdowns, if you had a traumatic past… blah blah blah…. is a family where you can be accepted as you are, not judged and not ALONE. This is a safe ZONE for us!

I created self-love retreats and Girl trips called FOXES UNPLUG so we can just getaway, work on ourselves, let loose, live life and HAVE FUN!

I also created a FOX IT UP! which is dance fitness but with FLAVA and it’s FREE on youtube. Since dancing and working out pretty much help me heal. I decided to give back. This workout isn’t about losing weight. It’s about having fun and feeling confident and SEXY!

Not only do I do this but I have a nonprofit with my wife called I AM MOVEMENT and we travel across the US and do assemblies and teach young girls and teens about self-love, bullying, woman empowerment and mental health.

This is not the end of what I do and I have so much more coming and I can’t wait.

Stay Foxy my Foxes

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I guess I’m an influencer but I consider myself just human.
