Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Arredondo
Adrian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my career as a performance artist in my native country, Mexico.
I always loved art & fashion since I was 4 years old.
The best memories of my childhood are running into my mother’s room and play with her hair, also collecting ID magazine, Número & Lofficiel.
In 2007, I moved to Los Angeles in search of a way to use my talents beyond passion.
After several years, drive and determination I caught the attention of global hair stylist Jawara Wauchope who quickly made me a part of his team.
My cultural and underground approach are influenced heavily by the 70’s Performance Art age, as well as my personal connection to the surrealism movement.
After so many years of exploration and hard work I got the pleasure to work in campaigns for brands such Marc Jacobs, Schiaparelli, Valentino, David Yurman and Opening Ceremony, among others.
I am also beyond grateful to able to collaborate with friends & artists such as David Lynch , Rose McGowan, Damian Chapa and Sia.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road is never smooth but if you love what you do and create as an artist in the present moment is a privilege and is a very rewarding feeling.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a hair stylist & beauty editor.
I am a session stylist during fashion week in the runways in Milan & Paris.
I also shoot a lot of fashion campaigns, commercial work and collaborate with a list of musicians.
Actually creating the famous wig for Sia was a very important time in my career as a hair artists.
Seeing my work globally is very rewarding and humbling.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Remember: You Are Uniquely Designed. Xx
