Daily Inspiration: Meet Adam Pedicini

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Pedicini.

Hi Adam, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Originally from Australia, my mum and stepdad instilled a great sense of healthy living and a love of the outdoors. Over the years I continued this passion along with being an actor and professional dancer. I’m the sort of person that likes to follow my heart and I definitely believe in doing things that make you happy. Now as a father of two beautiful girls, I can see there’s a lot of parents and specifically dad’s who struggle with our own health, mental health, and doing things outdoors that bring them joy.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There certainly hasn’t been anything traditional or smooth about the way I was bought up or the things that have happened to me. So much of my life, I have been looking for answers and solutions to fix my problems. But it wasn’t until I did a deep dive into who I am as a person, and listened to the stories that I was telling myself was I able to truly make a change. The difficulty with the process was that I had to really observe the dark corners of who I am, and that was very confronting. Especially when there is an element of honesty and having conversations with people in my life about what I had discovered.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I think they say most people have three or four different careers in their life… It’s fair to say I’ve lost count of the different types of jobs and careers I’ve had, but the Throughline and most consistent element has been one as a creative working in the health and wellness sector. as I have evolved as a person and a dad of two beautiful young girls, I’ve come to really appreciate the variety of experiences and life that I have lead.

Through natural course of evolution, I’ve now found myself in a place where I am combining health, mental health and using outdoor adventure as a vehicle or platform to help people. The thing with having lived, so many different experiences, is it something you can’t buy, and I find when I am helping people, I’m able to connect on many levels and appreciate individual circumstances.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Finding a mentor or networking use to be a form of resistance for me. Mainly because I didn’t know what a mentor relationship would look like. I also fell into the category of thinking I could do it all myself or that I didn’t need help. I think it was Tim Ferriss that suggested a mentor can be someone who you know or you don’t. It’s more about finding someone who you resonate with and has the same values. When I re-positioned the way, I thought about a mentor, I was able to absorb and learn more without blockages. I approached it with an open mindset. I’m naturally an introvert and networking has always been something. I’ve resisted. But one way I found to overcome that is to contribute to public forums and engage in conversation with people online. Having a mentor and engaging in networking, I believe, are really important things, and if there is some resistance, I suggest digging a little deeper and taking it one step at a time
