Today we’d like to introduce you to Zina And Juann Malki And Khoory.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We had a vision of opening a bridal shop that would provide the bride and her bridal party with unique styles from around the world, different from what is seen in the mainstream, in addition to impeccable styling and custom design services.
The shop is set up as an art gallery, an open concept, where the bride can touch and feel every dress. She can also choose in person what she would like to try on. Similarly, bridesmaids, the mother of the bride and the groom, and the guests of the wedding or special occasions shoppers can pick as many dresses as they wish to try on. With our expertise in styling, we normally advise what looks good on different body shapes.
We are one of the few bridal shops that offer bridal and ready-to-wear collections at the same location. It’s a one-stop shopping experience. Our tailoring atelier makes sure that the gown fits the body like a glove. Our stylists help the bride with veils, tiaras, jewelry, and accessories to complete her final look. Our ultimate goal is to bring our bride’s vision to life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It took us a bit of time to figure out our niche. We believe in elegance, couture, and regal fashion for our customers, and that can vary from the simple shapes to the full ballgowns. Our audience is looking for sophisticated, timeless, and modern fashion. We try to veer away from trends and passing fashion and stay with the classic, unique, almost one-of-a-kind type of look.
Our goal is to make our clients feel special when they are wearing the garment while they are celebrating precious occasions and creating beautiful memories.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Creative styling is what we strive for and are good at. Orchestrating a wedding attire from the bridal gown to the bridal party is an important task as it needs to follow the bride’s vision or the occasion vision from the fabrics to the textures and the colors, along with the gowns’ shapes to work all together in concert with the space set up, the flowers, the cake, etc.
We call ourselves artists vs businesswomen!
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Our families have been in the garment business for over a century. Our great-grandfathers were silk merchants. Later, our mothers knew how to sew and create patterns, and they taught us, from a young age, what looks good and what doesn’t in terms of proportion, color, pattern, and scale. We were sent to fashion school, where we learned knitting, crochet, stitching, and making fabric flowers. Styling has become a second nature to us as we have grown in the business of retail since 1990, when the first shop in the family opened in Boston.
