Conversations with Zeke (Ezekiel) Bridges

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zeke (Ezekiel) Bridges.

Hi Zeke (Ezekiel), please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
A quick look at my story. Born to a family of actors, I thought it was normal to play pretend and have ongoing fantasies almost every day. My dad Beau, uncle Jeff and grandfather Lloyd Bridges ran our family sort of like a traveling circus. Constantly going different places for work but bringing their family with them. Every one of us in the family has our part to play in the carnival! In our house, imagination ran wild. Stories were king. This led to a curiosity and passion for film/tv at a young age. And I truly feel blessed to be working in one of the oldest professions on the planet, storytelling!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ha! Of course not. Very few people have meteoric rises. To be an actor, you have to REALLY love what you do! Some of the biggest struggles that actors may encounter is obviously rejection and struggling to have the perseverance to continue. But with anything, practice makes perfect! And if you love what you do, good things will come! Also, if you ever get the feeling of “ahh maybe I’ll just skip this audition. I don’t think I’m gonna get the part.” DON’T SKIP THE AUDITION. Some of my favorite projects I’ve been a part of, I thought I had no business playing.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Thank you so much! Well for me, the most important thing is making sure you have all your ducks in a row. It is important to do the extensive character work prior to the shoot. Something that helps me get into the head of my character is taking a hard look at all of the other characters in the script. What do they think about my character? What does my character think about them? These are important questions to ask because it takes you out of your own head and offers a more subjective look on the person you will be portraying.

Any big plans?
Right now, I am currently filming a movie called Camera. The film centers around the view of a young mute child that is an unrecognized photographer in his local fishing town. The young boy’s amazing photos end up bringing the town together in a moment when they needed it most. In town, the fishing industry is in decline. I am playing one of the fishermen who is not very nice to the protagonist, the young boy. This is particularly exciting because the character I am playing is far removed from myself, so there is a lot of work to be done! On the side, I have a few projects I am developing myself and with friends in the industry. One based around the fictitious rise and fall of a video game streaming legend. And another, a spirit movie, based upon a true story of a man and his dead son’s goat.
