Conversations with Zack Peter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zack Peter.

Zack Peter

Hi Zack, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started my podcast, No Filter, with Zack Peter back in 2015. Way before podcasting was what it is today! Since then, the show has grown into popular YouTube and Instagram accounts, hosts multiple live shows per year throughout the country, and has been featured on a number of television shows, including Vanderpump Rules, Summer House, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. We even launched a wine line back in 2021! It’s exciting to see how much the podcast has grown, becoming a go-to source for all things reality TV and pop culture!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was certainly a fake it ’til you make it story! Back in 2015, when I started, nobody really understood the world of podcasting. Shows like E! News were still at the forefront of breaking entertainment scoop. Now, podcasts and social accounts lead the news cycle! But figuring out how to build the show into what it is now was a challenge. I would say I bombed the first 3-4 years and had to constantly pivot and rework the show and how I marketed it. Eventually, as I gained more confidence and learned the game better, I was able to find some stability and growth.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an entertainment host and digital creator. Most people know me for my coverage of pop culture and reality TV news, specifically Bravo and Real Housewives! I remember growing up, reading all the gossip magazines and watching reality shows, never really imagining I could build something sustainable for myself in this world. Especially without a formal degree! It’s exciting to see that being a chatterbox in school eventually led to a career in podcasting and TV hosting! I think my personality and candor set me apart. I’m not afraid to share my opinion. I don’t pander for likes or views. I stand firm in who I am and how I feel, and even when people may not agree with it, they come to respect it. So, that integrity in my work definitely makes me proud of the brand I’ve built.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
Life is the best school! You just have to throw yourself into it, be unafraid of whatever comes, be unapologetic about who you are and what you want, and you’ll find your way. Your gut is your own best resource, honestly! But I do love listening to The School of Greatness and The Skinny Confidential. I would listen to both on my train and bus rides to/from work before I become a full-time creator. I also found The Tools by Phil Stutz to be a great book! And I always recommend reading You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero as a great gateway!
