Today we’d like to introduce you to Vivian Lopez.
Hi Vivian, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Ever since I was a little girl, I would see my dad recording and taking pictures of everything. He would have me help him and that is where my passion for photography started. Little did I know those moments of him recording our family were going to be the precious moments I look back as an adult. I’m thankful my mom and my dad were able to give us so many memories that my siblings and I can remember and look back at. Looking back at memories makes people happy. I like to call pictures frozen moments in time because for that moment you were smiling and laughing while taking a picture, you’re able to always look back at that and smile again. Pictures for me are more than just the use of the camera, I’m documenting someone’s life and memories we don’t always know how long someone’s time on earth is so pictures are something you can always have that’s the closest to someone no longer here. I create pictures that will be passed down and shown to all the generations to come. The joy pictures and videos bring to people make me love what I do even more! The little moments in our life are what count!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Losing my dad last year was not easy for my family. His illness put a toll on myself and family. As sad as it was, we were happy he was no longer suffering and was able to rest in heaven. Losing him made me feel angry at a lot of things because after losing someone to an illness you try and blame yourself for not doing more. You definitely rethink your life and what you’re doing with it. Photography has always been something my dad I shared in common, I know he would of loved seeing all those pictures I have taken along the way. For that reason, it gives me the motivation to push forward with my dreams and goals and I will continue to do so!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a photographer, I love taking pictures of everything especially people. Weddings/engagements are my favorite thing to photograph. The happiness in people’s faces as their special day is taking place is what makes my passion grow for photography. Getting the reaction when they get their pictures makes me proud and confident in what I do. I’m not just a photographer that’s taking your pictures, I am going through your journey with you and living your most special moments beside you.
