Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Mckinney.
Hi Vincent, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I originally went to school for drafting and design at ITT Tech where I got my AA. After working in the field and being laid off due to lack of work I found myself unemployed and looking for a job. Things began to get tough. My unemployment ran out and I and my wife and kids were on the verge of being homeless. I had to figure out something so I enrolled at Mt. San Jacinto college where I took up Music and film. Shortly after that I bought a camera and started doing music videos for some of my classmates. That’s when I started my videography business. I quickly began to get more business and started doing photography as well.
Through my business, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a lot and coming artists as well as established artists.
Through music, I met 2 of my closest friends/producers Sav Did It and TeJohn Anax. We later formed a music label called VST music group. We booked a distribution deal thru empire after releasing our single with major artist Future entitled Teach me. We have also worked with our artists like Quavo, E-40, Gangsta Boo, Roshon, Safaree, Eric Bellinger, and more. God truly turned my life around and now I also edit and story produce for reality tv shows like Temptation island and love and marriage in Huntsville.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t. I’ve been laid off and almost homeless. A lot of missed opportunities. Trying to figure out the next step of my life after not being able to find a job.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a music producer/artist and I go by the name of V’Dollas. I am also a video editor and story Producer.
I am most proud of my accomplishments in reality tv with not only story producing and editing but also getting my music placed on shows. What’s set me apart is my ability to handle multiple tasks. I am a one-stop shop that can film, edit, produce, rap, sing, write, build things, and more.
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to never give up no matter how hard things seem or get. There’s always light at the end of the tunnel. And also to be consistent. I’m a true believer in you can do anything you put your mind too
