Conversations with Trey Colvin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Colvin.

Hi Trey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m Trey Colvin I started out at the age of 15 as a dancer in a dance group. I performed all Over winning every talent show I entered into. I went on to perform on BET’s 106 & park wild out Wednesdays then later was blessed with the opportunity to dance background on tour with Bow Wow. Moved to Charlotte NC where I host and promoted my own night at a nightclub by the name of 935. My night was CNL (college night live) each and every Thursday for 6 years and that’s where I better created a name and a brand for myself by becoming one of the top promoters in the city at the time. I opened my own catering business by the name of Good Eats Catering that I’ve had the pleasure of operating for the past 9 years catering hundreds of events feeding celebrities like Trey Songz & Lil Boosie. Traveling nationwide & internationally to Tulum Mexico & Puerto Rico as a private personal chef as well. I also have a YouTube reality TV show known as The Entourage where I take a group of strangers and travel to another state place everyone in one big house for the weekend and film how we coexist together without knowing one another and letting the drama authenticly unfold. I now have tapped back into my dancing roots and have created my own southern soul trail ride group known as the REAL DEAL KOUNTRY STEPPERZ and we have put our boots in the ground and haven’t stopped stepping since. We’ve had the pleasure of performing with southern soul Death Row recording artist Tonio Armani and we’re currently filming for a new reality show!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it has not been a easy road because after I performed on BET in 2011 I also had a head on car crash that shattered my femur bone in my hip and I had to have 6 metal rods & screws placed from my hip to my knee and I had to learn how to walk all over again. Still To this day I tend to have problem with my leg but it has not slowed me down not one bit hints the reason my trail ride field name is Loose Leg

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Being authentic real raw & rare has helped me to network with the best of the best and opened doors for blessings to pour down on me. Never try to be someone else be the best you that you can be and only compete with being a better version of who were yesterday
