Today we’d like to introduce you to Tio Hardiman.
Hi Tio, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Tio Hardiman. MA, President of Violence Interrupters, NFP.
I created the Violence Interrupters in 2004, and Violence Interrupters work across the world in the area of saving lives on the front end before any shots are fired. Violence Interrupters have mediated over 1200 conflicts since 2004.
Saving lives is a way of life for Tio Hardiman. Blessed are the Peacemakers. My Birthday is September 21st. This day is recognized as the International Day of Peace.
God has allowed me to travel the world to spread the message of peace and goodwill.
Growing up in very violent communities on Chicago’s West and South sides, I witnessed violence firsthand. This is one of the main reasons why I do my best to save lives.
I also ran for Governor for the state of Illinois. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor in the Field of Restorative Justice and Sociology.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Jealous people have been a serious obstacle for me. Heavy is the crown. When some people see that you are a proven leader and everybody loves your work then oftentimes hatred and envy begin to take form. Everybody wants to walk in your shoes until they put on your shoes.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in Violence Prevention, Politics, Show Business, and Teaching.
I’m mostly known for Violence Prevention. CeaseFire, and the Violence Interrupters.
I’m very proud of having the ability to help save lives. One person at a time.
What sets me apart, I’m a born leader.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Highly motivated, consistent, energetic, relentless, and detailed.
