Hi The Real , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The Real J.T.W. is a multifaceted musician, songwriter, and a notable figure in the music industry. (Born on March 2, 1993), in Omaha, Nebraska. He had a challenging childhood, but found solace in music at a young age of 12. As he progressed in his musical journey, he discovered the therapeutic benefits of music and decided to share it with the world. His music is known for its raw, honest, and relatable narrative that deals with real-life issues such as mental health, addiction, and depression. He has garnered a reputation for his deeply personal and thought-provoking lyrics that resonate with listeners on a personal level. He’s signed to an independent record label, Soulburnin Records that was founded in California.

He took the internet by surprise after a hit single “SHATTERED” had put him on the map in late 2020. A producer Soulburnin took a liking to his style and signed him to his label “Soulburnin Records”. They teamed up together becoming one of the most successful independent record labels. On September 26, 2022 he released his first professional debut album titled “Watch Me Bleed”. This album consisted of 15 tracks in total. Hit singles “DAMAGED” & “NEW PLACE”. The album broke over 310k+ in streams. This was considered a high amount of listeners who tuned in. They released each track on various platforms like Spotify & SoundCloud. This album really touched down on his life in every aspect.

After his first successful album. He dropped his second professional studio album under Soulburnin Records titled “Painful Living”. This album consisted of 10 tracks. Each track was a viral hit on the internet. He had hit singles like “REFLECTIONS” & “SLEEPING PILLS” on the Tracklist. The album was released December 29, 2023. The album broke over 430k+ in streams. This album was full of anger as he used his emotions to express himself.

His third professional studio album under Soulburnin Records titled “Way Below Ground” released January 20, 2025. This album had a 11 tracks in total. He had hit singles like “RUINS” & “TRICK OR TREAT” on the Tracklist. The single “TRICK OR TREAT” was his second most streamed track in his career. This album broke over half a million streams. This album touched down more on darkness & the demons he may have been facing at the time. This was said by many fans & supporters to be their favorite album from The Real J.T.W.

The Real J.T.W. plans to move into 2026 with a new album titled “Trapped Inside My Mind” with no set release date just yet. He also plans to drop his biggest hit that he’s been working so hard on sometime in 2026 titled “DO THE WALK”. This track is promised to go viral. Stay tuned as much more music is to come from him.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a musician my biggest struggles have been working on my craft as in flow, lyrics/songwriting, & timing on the beat. It takes a lot of dedication to become a successful musician.

I’m known as a musician for my amazing storytelling in music. I can piece together a story that speaks on truth. Realness is what he stands behind when it comes to the meaning of his artist name, The Real J.T.W.

What does success mean to you?
I believe it takes hard work and dedication. Consistency and believing in yourself always. Confidence within what you’re capable of doing plays a key factor in being successful as a musician.
