Today we’d like to introduce you to Susan Lavelle.
Hi Susan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in community theater, pageants, ballet, all the arts as a young girl in West Monroe, Louisiana. I’m very grateful to my Mom for exposing me to all of this because this is where my passion began but I wasn’t sure which one I loved the most. When I went to LSU for college, that’s when I realized the only class I wanted to go to was my acting class and that is where my focus was. I was doing some modeling, a music video and small commercials in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Then I got an opportunity to come to Los Angeles when I met an actor on the film “ Everybody’s All American”. They were filming at the LSU stadium at the time. I came to Los Angeles and with the help of my actor friend, my path of becoming an actress was on the way! Dream come true! But there was so much to learn! I got a modeling and acting agent right away. I had success co-starring in two films that are on Prime Video and doing some t.v. work. I took time off to get married, had the best kids and fell madly in love with horses! I also did a lot of animal rescue! But I missed acting! So here I am and acting has been better than ever! I have my first starring role in a feature film called “Dear Mother” and it will be out in December 2022!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life is a journey, everyone is different. My life took detours, some good and some bad and sad, that I had to face and concentrate on. I wasn’t able to come back to acting for years. And even then, I needed my confidence back and it took support from a few good friends. If you just have that one person that believes in you more than you believe in yourself, then you have gold. You have to have courage, faith and believe in fate. Once I returned, which isn’t even two years ago yet, things fell into place and the right people came in my life. Opportunities came in my life and I ran with them! I was prepared from all my years and work with my acting coach the late Janet Alhanti and her daughter Iris Klein at Iris Klein studios. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still hard, I have auditions and don’t get the part or almost get the part. It’s all part of the business. You really must stay positive and stay around positive people! I have a wonderful group of actors from my publicist, GTK pr agency, that supports each other. I go to the best events, red carpets and meet other people in the business! And they are wonderful! So if you get busy supporting and being supported by positive people in the acting world, you won’t think to much about the struggles!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

I only want to say that God is good! I couldn’t have gotten here without HIS grace in my life. For real!
