Today we’d like to introduce you to Stan Jones.
Hi Stan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got my start doing film and music back in the late 90’s. From there I started to fall in love with still photos. Being able to capture 1 single moment that could tell a complete story. I love the chance to be creative and create a vision that is pleasing to the eyes and the spirit. Rather it be something sexy or business set, a picture can tell a lot. I got my 1st photo camera and started snapping away. The more I shot, the more ideas I had and the more creative I became. I have a passion for the visual as well a passion for the music. I’ve gotten much better over the years understanding composition, angles and lighting. The editing is just another world I enjoy engaging in because I can transform the images into a better, more understanding part of an image or story behind an image.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road of a full-time photographer is not easy. We have thousands of other talented photographers who want the light to be on them and sometimes the prices they charge make them more suitable for clients on a budget. So you have competition! You have the issue of dealing with clients that don’t want to pay the full price or want the photos to use for commercial purposes but not willing to pay for the licensing. You have to overcome them by accepting that this is just part of the business.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I practice and I specialize in boudoir, fashion and portrait photography. I’m most proud of the growth I’ve seen in my work as it evolved over the years. I stay committed to learning and growing every chance I get. I create an experience. We have a full staff offering makeup, photoshoot support, bts for the shoot for content and branding purposes.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Just to stay diligent and keep pushing. Being consistent help. But during Covid 19 it was hard to get the clients in because of the scare. We dropped our prices momentarily but now back in full swing.
