Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Sorkin.
Hi Sarah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My Grandma Jean encouraged me to follow my dreams and never give up. She always said “just go for it, figure out the details later.” My Daily reminder is “Believe” and “Anything is possible”. When you put them together, it becomes a very powerful phrase. In 2008 the company I was working for and grew from the beginning got purchased by a larger company.
Within two days, I was on a plane to California. Six weeks later, I was packed and ready for the next adventure in life. My big move to Orange County, Ca from my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. I worked in healthcare and business development until October of 2014 when I had an opportunity to start working in the product development and packaging world. I worked as a contractor until May of 2021 when I got the opportunity to spread my wings. I started Starlight Design & Packaging LLC. I enjoy taking on a challenge, and helping others create a vision, and making it happen. There is never a dull moment in this industry, but I love what I do. My family, friends, and customers are my biggest supporters. I can’t wait to see what the future holds because the “sky is just the beginning!”
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The product development and packaging industry is very face-paced. I never realized how much goes into the process, and most times there are several moving parts in a project. All which require attention to detail. There have been a few challenges, but I work my way through them with production and my customer. It’s all about teamwork.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am in the product development, manufacturing, and packaging industry. I help customers bring their product vision to life. I am known for doing everything possible to make it happen. I am most proud of my ability to collaborate with my customers and become a trusted expert & resource for them. My customers will tell you that my communication and my desire to never give up on them or their projects is what truly sets me apart from others in the industry.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
A favorite book of mine is The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. I believe that it delivers a very powerful message about positive thinking & attitude.
