Today we’d like to introduce you to Sammy Lacey

Hi Sammy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a small town girl from Philly who made her way to LA in 2018 on a travel nursing contract.
Somehow I ended up staying and getting a full time job at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, which is a great gig if you’re in healthcare. I worked in the NICU for around 8 years!

Then in 2021 I was stuck at home bored, like most of us & I decided to make a TikTok account. My first video went viral and I have a bunch of comments asking me if I had an Only Fans. I had no idea what Only Fans was, so I did a deep dive and setup an account. Sometimes I used it, sometimes I didn’t.

Fast forward 2 years, at the start of 2023 I was on a travel assignment in LA, totally miserable, working nights & I had had enough of the hospital. I was completely burnt out & it just didn’t feel like me anymore. Which is super hard to come to terms with when you’ve given so money of your life to something; school, money & time.

But, with some encouragement from a few good friends; I quit! I’d dabbled with the idea of doing Only Fans full time before but had always been scared. Turns out the gamble paid off and within the first 12 months of doing Only Fans full time I had made 5 x my hospital salary. I don’t produce any content I am not comfortable with, I set myself extremely clear boundaries and adhere to them and I couldn’t agree less with the negative stigma associated with Only Fans. It is what you make of it. If you are a savy business person you can make great money & feel totally empowered.

Today, thanks to my choices I have developed a real estate portfolio that consists of short term rentals and flips. I travel back and fourth between the east coast and LA to work on them. Something I could never have done in 18 months working at the hospital.

I also have more recently started training others on how to utilize & grow their Only Fans pages, my hope is to prevent companies taking advantage of creators and aid them in scaling their accounts themselves.

Im happier & healthier than ever. Working at the hospital I had zero time for self care, now it’s part of my job. Staying fit and taking care of my body is a priority for me. I think it’s sad that we create an environment for our healthcare workers who genuinely go into these jobs with the best intentions that is unsustainable… But I am glad it led me to such a fantastic place. There is always a plan!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think the hardest part for me in my career has been letting go of what I thought I was supposed to do and embracing what is actually best for me.

I spent a year at the hospital miserable thinking about quitting but I was too afraid to take that leap. After dedicating so much time to a career path it’s awfully scary to just drop it like a hot cake and turn to something else. It feels like you have wasted time.

I eventually realized it was just my mentality that needed changing. I could stay the same or I could adapt and embrace my new path. As soon as I did that, everything go easier for me.

I would also mention the stigma attached to what I do obviously plays a role. But I think once you get older you realize no one really cares what you are doing. I wasn’t going to stay working at the hospital miserable because I was worried about what my high school friends would think about me doing Only Fans. They wouldn’t be the ones working 12 hour shifts until they were 70; I would.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Professionally: People see ‘Only Fans’ and have a lot of preconceived ideas. My goal when I went full time was to eliminate those stereotypes from my work and my mind. I don’t do what most people do on the platform. I don’t work how most people work on the platform. I also don’t offer what most people offer on the platform.

I am authentic. I do everything myself and outsource things that make my business scalable. For example video and photo editing; I was spending a lot of time on this so I have started to outsource so I can spend more time chatting with my subscribers and creating amazing content.

I also use the money I make from Only Fans to invest in my real estate projects; meaning I shorten my timelines for things like flips because I have the cash on hand.

My recent endeavors when it comes to training creators how to operate a functional business on Only Fans have had some great initial success. I want it to be seen as complete training, not a $35 course that you download on a PDF. Its tailored to the individual, its in person and its going to give every single tool its taken me years to learn in a matter of weeks.

Personally: For me Only Fans is a gateway to a life of freedom. The top creators on the platform are investing their money and will probably end up working for a maximum of 5 years and then will retire if they are smart & thats my goal. Early retirement with passive income. I think potentially thats what sets me apart in terms of my personal goals.

I also love mixing wellness into my content, I mean why not. Im so passionate about it and its a great way of putting my nursing career to good use still. Wellness is a huge part of my life and its great that I can still focus on that.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Doing Only Fans is extremely lonely at times! I’ve had a few close friends who have encouraged me along the way and a special someone who has one of the brightest business brains I know taking the regins on a lot of my LLC activities; I couldn’t have done any of this without her thats for sure.
