Today we’d like to introduce you to Randy Lehrman
Hi Randy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It’s funny how life works, no one ever grows up thinking they would become a Bar-Mitzvah DJ…but living in LA you never know. While on my quest to be an actor when I was barely out of high school, I was discovered at a party by one of the best Mobile DJs ever. All I wanted to do was impress him, so I pulled out a few of my over 100 impressions and he was sold. He then told me I would be teaming up with another actor who just started DJing for him, from Kansas, named Paul. Little did I know that I would be working with the now famous Paul Rudd. Once Paul left for the movie biz, I stayed for a couple more years and then decided to go on my own…3500 events later, here I am. The rest is history. I can’t say enough how grateful I am to be in a business where I can help people celebrate and create some of the best memories they will ever have.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While it seems like it’s easy, the struggles are usually in the people. In LA, especially the high expectations of clients are always a high bar that keeps me evolving and learning. I’d say the challenging part is people understanding that we are doing these events to help them celebrate their biggest day…so we always prefer to be treated like people and not just “the hired help.” We care so much and this is a creative job so we know that the best clients are the ones who trust us to do what we do.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice for anyone starting out…Never burn bridges. There’s no getting across once you’ve done that. Always keep your commitments and be true to your word.
