Conversations with Natalie Aguirre

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Aguirre

Natalie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a little girl, my dream was actually to become a professional basketball player, but after years of playing, I decided to trade in the court for a brush. Makeup was an outlet and also something that my mother never let me wear so when I would get to school, I would do it behind her back and that’s how my passion grew for it. It was through those moments that I realized I had a natural talent for making people feel beautiful, I gathered up the courage and asked my mother if she would enroll me in makeup school at the age of 16. Soon after completing the courses, with my mother’s support I landed my first job in Hollywood and hustlementality was born.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Breaking into the industry was kind of tough only because it seemed like there was a million makeup artist already established. However, I knew that this was my calling and I wasn’t giving up.
In the beginning of my career, I was working a 9 to 5 and doing make up on the side. It was all good until it wasn’t, I started to become more in demand which ultimately came down to making a tough decision,
Leaving my job or pursuing my dreams. I sat down, cried and had a long talk with God about this leap of Faith that I was going to take. Once I jumped, I’ve never looked back. I have now been a full-time freelance Makeup Artist for about five years.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a full-time professional Makeup Artist and I specialize in servicing weddings. I would say that I am most known for creating on deeper skin tones, which ultimately sets me apart from other Makeup Artist

How do you think about luck?
Well I’ve always known through out my life that I wanted to be successful, not only for myself but for my family. As a kid I watched my parents work so hard that I knew one day I wanted to
Repay them. That meant that I had to put in the work, sleepless nights and early mornings. I also brought God along my journey in every step that I took. So I wouldn’t call it luck but more so faith. My hustle and faith has carried me through this entire process!
