Today we’d like to introduce you to Najib Dubaisi.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Najib Dubaisi, born and raised in Beirut Lebanon. I started listening to rap music back in 2012 and fell in love with writing lyrics but never really recorded any of it. I moved to the states (Michigan) back in 2013, then got busy with school. I graduated as a computer and electrical engineer and my job took over my time and I gained weight during my transition from school to full time job and covid hitting and closing all the gyms. I was trying to lose weight but all the diets kept failing me. So I decided to do a lifestyle switch and my wife proposed trying vegan. I was against it at first but then after research i decided to try it out.
I lost 100 pounds and gained approximately 20 pounds of muscle on a plant based diet. After my journey I saw the hate vegans are getting online so I decided in March 2024 to start sharing my story in a positive, comedic story telling way to show the world that Vegan myths are all lies.
As I started with posting workout videos, I realized that there is more to vegan than just lifting or food. So I wanted to share the entire lifestyle. I slowly saw myself writing lyrics for my videos for fun and decided to make it my style. Few months later a vegan producer reached out to me to finish a vegan song he started. After recording my verse, he asked if I wanted to take music seriously. I was taken off guard but that opened up a door for me. Now I’m working on a 4 song EP called “4 the homies” coming out first quarter of 2026.
Your boi is an SW engineer, content creator, activist and artist
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Never been a smooth ride. Always had hurdles to overcome. What helped me is not taking every issue seriously especially if it’s out of my control. I always say “if it happened already then why waste time being upset about it. Just figure out a solution and move on.”
I struggled with the weight loss until I found my lifestyle. I struggled finding my voice as a content creator until I realized that it’s whatever I want it to be and not what others want. I struggled with day to day hurdles with getting into an accident that totaled my truck and damaged my knee, but I picked myself up and started the healing process and kept going hard on my content. I struggled with family and friends not supporting and calling it cringe but I blocked out the voices because it is cringe till it work.
My struggles make me stronger, I fall, I get up and clean myself and keep going
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I do a lot, which makes it difficult to focus on one task. However, I’m here for a good time and not a long time. I want people to see that food is just fuel no matter the source. I’m vegan, I have 3 jobs and I still enjoy my life with trips and vacation. My fuel is premium and it makes me stronger.
I’m dropping original music and I’m so proud to finally make my dream come true. I have a lot to share and with my love to music and my mission to spread compassion this EP is the most authentic thing I’ve done to myself.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I want to thank my Wife for being supportive and giving me the space to work on myself and grow with content and music.
I want to thank my parents for being my daily cheerleaders and supporting every decision and wanting me to play the game of life and see what it brings me.
I want to thank the LA vegan community for supporting and uplifting me online and in person.
Also want to thank all the other vegan creators, vegan restaurants and businesses that keep fighting daily even though the odds are stacked against us.
I wouldn’t be able to do anything that I doing without all the support I get from the people around me and followers
