Conversations with Marlon Davila Avalos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marlon Davila Avalos.

Marlon Davila Avalos

Hi Marlon, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story started in Medellin – Colombia, when I started dancing in High school at the age of 13. I remember that I was feeling very different to all the kids around me, and my classmates started to bully me for being different and fearless, but I never let them go through me. I had so many fights in High school until they gave up because I was never scared of them, after that I was very popular, and people started to love me for who I am!

I auditioned to be part of a very known dance academy in my city, and I made it! I had to be in the academy at 7 am to 1 pm Monday to Friday, and then I had to be at school from 1 pm to 7 pm, Yoooo that was crazy looking at the picture right now, I had to wake up at 5 am get ready and leave at 5:30 am, I had to go down the street, take a bus, jumped in the metro full of people because it was rush hour and then walk to the academy every day to be on time, then leave at 12 pm and do the same thing to be on time in school.

At the age of 17, I moved to Dubai to work as a professional dancer – Choreographer, and I stayed till I was 24 then I moved to Los Angeles in 2016, and my life as a dancer changed because the training and quality was totally different from everyplace I was before. I started to explore more, and I found my other creative part that is video and photos I started to work on social media as a content creator, and here I am doing the things that I love! My next step is to study to be an actor, but that will be another story.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wish it was a smooth road, lol; I had to climb mountains, swim oceans, take a lot of planes, and here I am still struggling to go where I really wanna be. I can’t say my road was more difficult than others, I only can say that it was my way, and only myself know how hard it was to be where I am right now, but I’m very thankful for every struggle that I had because it formed the man I am today. Right now, I’m not even halfway where I wanna be, but every day, I wake up with determination to work hard and materialize everything that’s in my mind. I think the key for everything is to stay humble and never forget where we come from.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My main Job is Dance, but I specialize in creating videos, concepts and getting people together to create new and different things. I am known for being fun to be around, honest loyal, a good friend, and very talented Period! I am very proud of my evolution and be so lucky to have people that support each other along the way! I don’t know what sets me apart from others, but I think my personality is the key to everything.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I just want to say thanks so much for taking the time to get to know me a little bit, and I hope this inspired people to not give up and enjoy this ride called life!

If you need some content hit me up, I’m here to create and help you out!
