Conversations with Lynn X

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynn X.

Hi Lynn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
As a child, I used to carry around (at all times) a Sesame Street Cassette player, I’ve always been drawn to music and entertainment. Throughout my life, I was always involved in something… Dancing, singing, acting classes, my grandma used to take my sister and I to a park with an amphitheater and we would pretend to put on performances. Long story short, I always knew I would be furthering a career in the industry. Now I’m a Music Business graduate from Full Sail University and currently working on my Master’s in Journalism.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve definitely had challenges and a change of course. I completed three years of a Political Science and History degree program and then became a mother. As cliché as it may sound, challenges are really just lessons in life that are imperative to the completion of your story.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a journalist, artist manager, and publicist. As a journalist, aside from covering topics across the industry, I have the opportunity to interview several artists and producers/engineers from across the country. I absolutely love creating relationships with artists and helping their careers. I started working in public relations during my time at Full Sail when my friend Joydan Dawson connected me with SL Nextlevel Entertainment. Under the mentorship of the CEO Gen Johnson and Connie Banks, I have had the opportunity to learn and grow so much. What sets me apart from others is my energy, work ethic, and genuine joy for the success of the people I meet.

How do you think about luck?
I am beyond blessed to have come across the opportunities that I have received and a lot of it comes from hard work and no sleep. I. would say I’m lucky but by way of manifestation.
