Today we’d like to introduce you to Luciano Nascimento
Hi Luciano, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in São Paulo Brazil where I was raised by my mother, Rosa, and her older sister Eva. I was taught at an early age that it is important to always chase my dreams, no matter how big. Fitness was my first passion and I knew that if I wanted to grow in this industry I would need to better myself and go to the university for my degree. Since I did not come from a wealthy family I worked extremely hard to not only get to and from school but to also pay for my education as well. In Brazil our undergraduate programs take 5 years versus the American programs that take 4. I received my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology and was able to start my career in Personal Training. I worked my way up through BodyTech Gym, an establishment that holds the same reputation as Equinox here in the US, in São Paulo and eventually became the lead trainer for them. By the time I reached this level in my career I wanted to explore the world and California was first on my list. I came to visit California in 2013 and very quickly understood why it is spoken so highly about. After this trip I knew my next dream was to push myself to move to Los Angeles and start a new chapter. In 2018 I packed up my bags, enrolled in an English school and moved to Los Angeles to continue to chase my dreams. I didn’t know any English or have any friends or family here so for me this was truly a drastic change in my life. I worked incredibly hard to new meet people, learn a new language and reestablish myself as a personal trainer and fitness coach throughout the West LA/South Bay areas. Today I am proud to say I am an incredibly hard working private personal trainer and fitness coach to many. In my free time I also enjoy training in Jiu Jitsu and enjoying Hermosa Beach with my wife and friends.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say my life has not been a smooth road but I would not change it for a second. I didn’t come from money and in a country like Brazil that means you have to work incredibly hard to even put food on the table. I was an only child raised by a single mother and my aunt who fortunately taught me both strength and resilience. I owe everything to the both of them for helping to create the man I am today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I like to think that I specialize in making people feel well through fitness. My intense training and education sets me apart from others which gives me the confidence everyday to work harder, continue to grow my success and most importantly help people build a new lifestyle with fitness.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I understand that people want a quick fix to transform their bodies and we will most likely continue to see a trend in “fad diets” or treatments like ozempic, but it is my goal to help people understand that fitness is a lifestyle and working hard for the results will give a greater feeling than any quick remedy would.
