Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorelei Marcell.
Lorelei, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got started when I was 13! At the time I was posting covers of me singing onto Instagram, and a talent scout had sent me a dm asking if I wanted to begin songwriting with this producer named Shannon. I had never thought about making my own music until that moment, and in a way it changed everything. Last year I made the decision to move to LA right after high school ended. After moving, I immediately went and toured the country as an opener for this band called Transviolet. Since then I’ve been building my social media presence and releasing a ton of new music.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The whole experience has been a little bit of everything. I’ve dealt with uncertainty, rejection, competition, and heartbreak for the first time this past year since really starting. However, I’ve also had my share of irrevocably special and exciting moments as well. Those good and bad experiences have shaped me into the artist I am today and will continue to do so. In that way I’d describe this all as bittersweet.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m at singer-songwriter, and although there is so many artists and creatives trying to make it now more than ever, I believe the thing that sets me apart is my ability to convey emotion and vulnerability through my lyrics. I want my music to feel hopeful yet bittersweet.
