Today we’d like to introduce you to Logesh Kumaar.
Hi Logesh, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi! We are Logesh Kumaar & Rachel Kumaar from the YouTube channel – Kumaar Family. We are also on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. So we started YouTube when we were all stuck at home during the early days of the pandemic in 2020. We love YouTube & enjoy following the vlogs of other people, getting to know their perspective on life, and I’ve always wanted to document the stories of our lives, so that’s how it started. It’d be cool to see how the kids were growing up, and much like everyone else around the world who’s stuck at home, we had nothing else to do at that point, so we did it. A little over 2 years now and we have about close to 340,000 subscribers.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Life is all about highs and lows. Everything is a work in progress, we won’t consider where we are now as our pinnacle of success. Typically as content creators, we’ve always faced challenges with our equipment, content ideas, or whether we’re feeling situated in front of the camera. We do have our own lives outside of YouTube – we both work full-time jobs, and we have kids to raise. So it gets pretty hectic sometimes to juggle all of it at once, but we learn from it and improve to be better. At the end of the day, we’re always focused on our goal which is to inspire and encourage others through the story of our intercultural family.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Logesh works full-time in marketing, while Rachel is a behavioural therapist. Content creation is our passion project that we do on the side!
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
For Logesh, growing up in Malaysia meant enjoying the little things. A memory that is carried through until today would be celebrating an occasion (birthdays, good school grades) at a KFC or a local Malaysian steakhouse.
As for Rachel, growing up was spending summers at a camp in Sebastopol, doing all sorts of fun things like rock climb, zip line, swimming, and hike!
