Today we’d like to introduce you to Little Luna.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi! I’m Little Luna, I write and sing indie pop/alt-rock music, and in my Voyage interview from 2020, I walk you through my past. What I will share is how much I’ve grown since our last conversation. In 2020 I released music for the first time in my life, and have since then released (and self-funded!) 11 songs, 11 yoga flows, 9 music videos, 1 EP, and played 4 concerts (two of them being sold out shows at the Hollywood Palladium opening for 5 Seconds of Summer!) with my hired-on badass girl band. As an independent artist, and as a woman who is only recently allowing herself to change up her career, I am so proud of the growth that has come from these past 2 years.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Many of my obstacles I shared with you in my 2020 interview (especially as far as how I got to the place where I knew I needed to switch careers and go full steam ahead believing in myself as a musical artist). In the last 2 years though, a lot of my challenges have been me just continuing to be my own biggest #1 fan so I don’t give up, funding it all as an indie artist, and just overall believing that I can make this a life long career! from those challenges though, 2 of my biggest “wins” from these last two years, were getting to open for 5 Seconds of Summer (at The Hollywood Palladium!), and Jagwar Twin (at The Troubadour!) this summer. Getting to meet humans in person, sing the lyrics together, & chat with people who had no idea who I was (which is most people LOL) but because of those shows are now fans, just feels like a HUGE blessing, and also a nod to what I want in the future. Each night I walked off stage, I felt a deep sadness in my stomach knowing I wouldn’t get to do it again the next night! I am itching to do it again, so one of my biggest goals (and challenges) for 2023 will be to get on tour(s) as an opener and get to connect with more little lunatics in person! Let’s go!!!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I think what sets the little luna world I’m building apart from other music projects is the fact that it all centers around re-discovering your truest self. You are truly never too old to change or switch careers. You don’t have to know all the answers to dive into something new that interests you. And most importantly? You are allowed to be whoever you are in any given moment. So within this self re-discovery I often talk about in lyrics and on social media are yoga flows, & guided meditations to support you on your journey, as yoga and meditation are two practices that have deeply opened my connection to self.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I want to take a moment to thank anyone for reading this who is already supporting me! by streaming my music, watching the music videos (all directed by yours truly!!!), buying my merch, or even coming to my shows this summer. I love reading your DMs and hearing how the lyrics I’ve written have become your soundtrack. The music isn’t mine anymore, and that’s the greatest gift you could give me. And to any new readers just learning about LL today – HI! come along on this journey with me as you watch me literally re-discover my truest self in real-time, and share it with you through music, yoga flows, internet chats, and in-person experiences!
