Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal Torres.
Krystal, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hey there! I’m Krystal Torres, and I’m originally from LA. I’ve been doing hair for over 10 years now, ever since I graduated from the Toni & Guy academy. I kicked off my journey at Sally Hershberger in Beverly Hills, which was such a game changer for me. I got to learn from and work with some of the best colorists on the West Coast, and it really shaped my skills!
I’ve always had a passion for color, but once I discovered the magic of hand-painted hair, I was totally hooked. Early on in my career, I got the incredible chance to move to London, where I picked up new techniques in coloring, cutting, and extensions, and I learned how to work with all kinds of hair textures and backgrounds.
Right now, I focus on creating that natural, “low maintenance” lived-in look for my clients. My main goal is to help you keep your hair healthy while staying on top of the latest trends, and I’m all about continuous learning to make sure I bring you the best!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I faced a lot of challenges when it came to building my clientele, especially since my salon changed hands three times! Plus, spending a year in London had its ups and downs. On the one hand, I got to learn new techniques and connect with some amazing clients over there. On the flip side, I lost touch with my American clients for that whole year. It was a mixed bag for sure!

I’m a color specialist, focusing on that beautiful lived-in color look and balayage, which is the French technique of hand-painting hair.
