Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Click.
Hi Kelly, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been a pastor’s wife since my mid-20s, so serving people has always been at the heart of what I do. I was introduced to alternative medicines as a child when my mother had a curious breast lump, which turned out to be non-cancerous. However, we began seeking alternative views other than mainstream ideas. This was in the late 70’s. We started to grow wheat grass, eat ground turkey (which had to be found at a special butcher), and drink protein shakes. Let’s say that protein powders have come a long way. I abandoned most of those sensibilities when I entered my teen and adult years and mainly ate the standard American diet (highly processed and inflammatory). Yet decades later, when my third child, my baby, got sick, all of those foundational instincts to look at what we were putting into our body returned. My son began showing signs of a tic disorder at an extremely young age. He was only two. He would later be diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome. I immediately changed my family’s eating habits and started educating myself about health. His healing journey was long and arduous, as most healing journeys are. Being a desperate mama bear, I tested many different health modalities. I completely changed my family’s diet, used targeted supplementation (which was very difficult with a young child who could not swallow pills), and utilized mud packs to clear metals and toxins from his system. This journey with my son began my journey of sharing what I learned along the way. Once my eyes were opened to the transformation these foundational health practices can bring, I never looked back. Over time, I became a certified culinary nutrition expert, learning how to use food as a primary tool for healing. I later became certified as a functional nutrition health coach and dove deep into studying all body systems and targeted supplementation. Now, I’m in the exciting phase of building my client base and helping everyday people shift their health through foundational nutrition, smart supplementation, and simple but powerful lifestyle changes.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a pastor’s wife with many responsibilities at church, a mom of three, and someone who came into this journey a little later than planned, it’s definitely been a slower build. I’ve only been able to dedicate part-time hours to growing my business. Now that my kids are grown and more independent, I finally have more space to pour into this work. Our family has walked through some very challenging seasons, especially navigating Tourette’s syndrome — and it truly was a whole family journey. But those experiences are a meaningful part of our story, our victories, and a big reason why I’m so passionate about helping others get healthy.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I currently help clients build foundational health that will be lasting and sustainable. I help them clarify their health goals and build a solid nutrition plan with therapeutic foods, targeted supplementation, and key lifestyle changes. I will run functional labs to dig deeper into root causes if needed. Blood sugar balance is always key with every client I work with. So, I teach everyone how to eat to help ease blood sugar dysfunction. I also work with a lot of ladies my own age, so we are always talking about hormonal health and how to ease the menopausal transition. I have resources and supplements I recommend. I partner with an outstanding supplement company, Premier Research Labs. This company uses no binders or fillers and tests over 26 metrics for daily safety and bioavailability! What sets me apart is that no one protocol fits all. I deal with each client individually and make a customized recommendation for their situation. I do not push a one-diet-fits-all approach. Each client may take a little longer, but it is worth it.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I have lived in the South Bay for over 30 years. I love that the South Bay has everything. We have every ethnic group, cuisine, and culture. I love being near the beach and downtown for concerts and events. Literally, the South Bay is a great location with perfect weather. Did I mention perfect weather? 🙂
