Conversations with Kaitlyn Howard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlyn Howard.

Hi Kaitlyn , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Kaitlyn Howard. I’m from Los Angeles, CA born and raised. Growing up I always wanted to be a variety of different things from basketball player to record producer and even a cop at one point, but then I started to look for what I really wanted and I use to watch Sam and cat and victorious and all the Nickelodeon shows that I’m pretty sure everyone grew up watching and I wanted to be like Ariana grande, she was the first actor to give me inspiration to become an actor then I watched the breakfast club one of my favorite movies of all time and I feel in love with Molly ringwald I was fascinated by her the way she expressed herself and the way she brought the character to life and shared a story that was amazing and made it her story, I remember telling myself one day when I was like 10 years old I’m gonna be like Molly ringwald one day. So then I started looking into acting school after high school, I took drama class in high school and I fell more in love with it. I then started going to acting school and I went to three acting schools before finding the one, which is called Theatre of Arts. It came up on my page on instagram one day and I looked it up and I signed up and I was happy because god had given me a sign to become an actor and share stories in this world and I love sharing stories by acting in this world. Coming from the bad part of LA it’s a dream come true that I’m able to tell stories and make my own stories whenever I want and I’m beyond grateful.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s been some bumps in the road with not knowing which school was best for me, and at one point I was told that I wasn’t going to be able to go back to school because my dad had gotten into an accident and I said no way I know my dad would want me to continue going to school and becoming the women and person I am today and I’m glad that kept going and never gave up.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I want to be a director and I directed my first short film and wrote it as well last year in August I’m still working on it and I can’t wait for the world to see how it turned out.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I would just say I’m really passionate about what I want to in this world and don’t let anyone take that opportunity away from you because your doing it for yourself and you may have family and friends on your side helping and supporting you, but never give up on yourself because you are your biggest motivation and inspiration at that so do whatever makes you happy.
