Conversations with Kaitlin Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlin Williams.

Hi Kaitlin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a 27 year old entrepreneur from Southern California. My passion is in all things creation and creativity. I started off my career as a Pro Makeup artist in 2013 and have been incredibly blessed with a successful career since then, I even started my selling my own line of false eyelashes on my online shop called Makeup Le Vie. Being a MUA and working backstage at renowned award shows like The Grammy’s, The Billboard Awards, and The American Music Awards, I was introduced into the world of Production and found another passion in that. I LOVE working on sets, behind the scenes, and backstage… every part of Production excites me. Shortly after working my way up the Production ladder, I landed a job as an Assistant producer working and producing live shows in Los Angeles and in doing that, I decided to launch my own Event Planning business, Le Vie Events. Launching Le Vie Events has been the blessing I didn’t know was coming. I love what I do. I love curating spaces and bringing my client’s visions (as well as my own) to life.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Well, are any roads worth traveling ever smooth?

Like any process, there will be bumps in the road. However, I have found beauty in the stops along the way. I realized that everything happens for a reason. It will or it won’t work out the way you imagined… you just have to decide what’s worth losing your mind over. My favorite sayings are “Some things don’t work out, so other things can” as well as ‘Rejection is just redirection” those quotes have quite literally saved me from a world of disappointment. You can only control what you can control, other than that, most things are out of our hands.

If something doesn’t work out, it was probably for the best. I have been rejected from jobs I thought would change the game for me, only to be presented with the actual life-changing opportunities. Overall though, I also understood that it will always be up to me to manifest and create my own destiny. I have found that without pursuing my first initial passion in Makeup artistry, I would not have been able to lead my career the way that I have, and for that, I am so grateful to have pushed myself to always follow my dreams.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
To elaborate, I mentioned I have been a Pro Makeup Artist since 2013, booking clients for Weddings, Events, Award shows, and Production sets. My clients book me for my “soft glam” style of makeup application.

I have been a Production Specialist and Producer since 2016 having done quite literally every job you can have in production with the exception of camera/ video operations.

And finally, as an Event Planner, I create, curate and bring my client’s event visions to life. Doing everything from Weddings, to birthday parties, baby showers, or brand focused parties and launches.

I am also a signed Commercial Model and Actress with LoveTalent agency booking ads and commercials in every industry. I’ve been featured on Nike, Hulu, Beauty Blender, and Apothic Wines to name a few.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
FOLLOW YOUR HEART. I tell that to everyone who has ever asked me about my journey. Had I not listened to what my heart and mind were telling me, there is absolutely no way that I would have made it to where I am today.

If you let anyone else dictate what it is your dreams are telling you, then it is no longer yours. You only get one life on this Earth, and you’ll get a lot of chances to make it what YOU want but you have to do it with you in mind. Complacency is the killer of dreams, so is expectation. The only things you should expect should come from you and not anyone or anything else. Expect you to show up for YOU. Expect the trials and tribulations, so you can get ready. “Stay ready, so you don’t have to get ready” is another saying that keeps me on my toes and keeps me moving.

Another thing, JOURNAL. Write. Your. Goals. Down. When I first started, I wrote down every single thought or idea that came to mind. Then, I mapped out the possibilities for each and dated them. Some were months out or years later. For me, this is how I manifested my career(s). As of today, I have 6 completed journals for my dreams and goals… and every single thing I’ve written down has come to life in some way, shape, or form.

Lastly, keep in mind that dreams only work if you do. Keep actively working and building your own success. Any handouts can be taken away. Anything you’ve built or created from the ground up can’t be.
