Today we’d like to introduce you to Jsal

Hi JSAL, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey with music as a hobby—something that provided me with an escape and a sense of joy. Music was always around me, but it wasn’t until my breast cancer diagnosis that everything shifted. When I was diagnosed, my world was turned upside down, and I found myself struggling to cope with the overwhelming emotions that came with it. In an effort to process everything, I began journaling, pouring my thoughts and feelings onto the page.

What started as a personal way to deal with the emotional turmoil turned into something much more powerful: lyrics. I realized that the raw emotions I was expressing through writing could translate into music. My debut single, Be Invincible, came from these journaling sessions. It was my way of capturing the resilience I had found within myself during my battle with cancer. Music became not just a coping mechanism, but a calling—something I had to pursue to share my story and connect with others who might be going through their own challenges.

As I continued to heal, I began to focus on my health more intentionally, diving into wellness practices that supported my physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This new interest in healthy living began to influence both my personal life and my music. I wanted my journey of healing to be reflected in the anthems I created, so I wrote songs that spoke to themes of resilience, strength, and embracing authenticity.

Today, I’m focused on sharing my music with the world. My upcoming album, Rising Phoenix, captures my evolution—my battles, my growth, and my commitment to living a life full of purpose. Music has evolved from being a hobby to being my life’s work, and I’m grateful for the path it’s taken me on. Along the way, I’ve learned the importance of embracing vulnerability, seeking balance, and using my voice to uplift others. It’s been a journey of transformation, and I’m excited to continue sharing my story with those who resonate with it.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but every struggle has contributed to my growth and resilience. The biggest challenge, of course, was my cancer diagnosis. It shook me to my core and forced me to confront fears I never imagined facing. But it also ignited something in me that I hadn’t fully realized before: a deep, unshakable desire to create and share my story. While the diagnosis was a turning point, navigating the emotional and physical toll of treatment was another hurdle. There were days when it felt impossible to find the energy to write or record, but I pushed through, often using my music as a way to process and heal.

In addition to the personal battles, building a career in music hasn’t been without its challenges. Breaking into the industry, finding the right team, and learning the business side of things required persistence and patience. There were moments of doubt, wondering if I was truly on the right path, especially when things didn’t move as quickly as I had hoped.

Balancing my career with personal health has also been a struggle. While I’m deeply passionate about my music, I’ve learned that prioritizing my well-being is essential. There are times when the demands of both worlds clash, and I have to step back, reassess, and find a better balance.

But through it all, I’ve learned that resilience doesn’t mean perfection—it means showing up even when the road gets tough. Every setback has become a lesson, and each step forward, no matter how small, has brought me closer to the life I want to create for myself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a music artist and performer, specializing in creating uplifting, resilient, and empowering anthems that resonate deeply with listeners. My work is rooted in themes of personal strength, healing, and authenticity. Drawing from my own life experiences, particularly my journey as a cancer survivor, my music connects on an emotional level. I’m known for writing and performing songs like Be Invincible and Inner Flame, which inspire others to push through adversity and emerge stronger.

My debut single, Be Invincible, is an anthem of empowerment and resilience. Born from the mindset I adopted during my battle with cancer, the song serves as a reminder that no matter the hardship, we have the power to rise above and grow stronger. It encourages embracing our inner strength and pushing through life’s toughest moments with courage. A declaration of self-empowerment, it emphasizes finding invincibility even in vulnerability. Be Invincible was released on June 13, 2024.

Inner Flame focuses on the quiet, unwavering strength that resides within each of us, particularly when life challenges us. It’s about reconnecting with that inner drive—the core of who we are—and using it as fuel to keep moving forward. The song speaks to the idea that our “inner flame” never truly goes out; it’s a constant source of motivation, always ready to be reignited. The lyrics reflect my journey of personal growth and rediscovering resilience in the face of adversity. Inner Flame was released on September 20, 2024.

What sets me apart from others is the authenticity behind my music. Each song comes from a place of vulnerability, using music not only as self-expression but also as a means of supporting and inspiring others. I don’t just want my music to be heard—I want it to make people feel seen, understood, and empowered. Every track I create tells a story, blending my personal experiences with universal themes that resonate with all.

I’m proud of how I’ve built my career while staying true to my values. Partnering with causes that align with my own experiences—such as cancer support organizations—has been a priority for me. Giving back to the causes that have helped me along the way is incredibly important.

Above all, I’m proud of how my music has evolved. What began as a therapeutic outlet has transformed into a movement, encouraging others to embrace their inner strength and live with purpose. My ability to blend personal storytelling with uplifting energy is what I believe makes my music stand out in the industry. Music has the power to heal, and I’m honored to share that gift with the world.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in luck, but I do believe in the power of perseverance and making the most of the circumstances I’m given. In my life and business, it’s been more about how I respond to challenges and opportunities rather than relying on luck.

When I was diagnosed with cancer, it was certainly a major life challenge. At the time, it felt like a heavy blow, but I chose to see it as an opportunity to grow, to transform my pain into creativity. That decision led me to music, which became my outlet for expression and healing. In a way, what others might call “bad luck” turned out to be a catalyst for my artistic journey.

In terms of my music career, there have been ups and downs. Breaking into the industry isn’t easy, and there have been moments of frustration where things didn’t go as planned. But I’ve learned that those setbacks weren’t failures—they were opportunities to improve, refine my skills, and build resilience. Instead of relying on luck, I focus on what I can control: my work ethic, my commitment to my craft, and my ability to keep moving forward.

So, I don’t rely on luck—I focus on creating my own opportunities, learning from every experience, and making the most of the path I’m on.
