Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Sadowski.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started using social media as an outlet to express myself creatively in 2018, with the hopes of being able to move to LA and begin working in mainstream entertainment. Last year is when I started living in LA full-time, and it’s been amazing being able to not only do social media but also work on my music. I’ve also been able to explore my passions and I have other business ventures that have also brought amazing experiences and opportunities including management and consulting.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I’ve been extremely blessed to have had such an adventurous journey since starting on social media. I’ve definitely learned a lot of lessons over the past few years though. My biggest struggle was not being able to identify what my true passions were and also taking on too many projects and ideas I “thought” were what I wanted to focus on for the long run. I don’t regret in any way shape or form going into management or being on the more corporate side of things because it’s helped me gain experience in different skills I was interested in. It can be scary to change things up especially when it has to do with your career, but that’s a part of the journey. I’ve learned to not be so afraid of taking risks and trying to new things because it’s led me to a place of more peace and happiness.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I gained most of my notoriety through comedy skits and the characters I had developed since I first started social media. I still incorporate comedy and my characters in my videos occasionally, but I’ve found that I enjoy putting out lifestyle and music-based content as well. I have also been so blessed to work with so many different creators which inspire different levels of creativity. I’ve been able to work with so many different brands I could never have imagined working with three years ago, including Chipotle, Invisalign, HBO Max, and so many others. I grew up in a very musical family, and it’s been such a huge part of my life from a young age. I’m extremely excited for my Music that I’ll begin releasing early next year. I’m now starting to write songs and jingles for brands as well, which has been an amazing experience. It’s also really exciting to get to share a deeper, more vulnerable side of myself through my music.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I wasn’t always the biggest risk-taker, but I quickly had to learn to become comfortable with the uncomfortable. I think taking risks is important, but you also have to be responsible and listen to your gut. The mindset I like to have is that if I’m going to take a risk, I always ask myself if I’ll regret not taking that chance. It can be anything from starting that new business idea or reach out to that producer you’ve been wanting to work with or even ordering something new on the menu for once. Once you can find peace in things not always going to plan and finding creative ways to pivot when running into problems, you’ll most likely always end up landing in the right place. As long as I take risks on my passions, I feel I’ll never disappoint myself.
