Conversations with Jonathan Sherman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Sherman.

Hi Jonathan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story starts in my childhood. My mother put in modeling and from that I got into acting and that creative expression has led to where I am today.
I balanced acting with sports, but to me it’s all art, just art in different forms.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been smooth at all.
In 2021 I wrote a tv show that was noticed by some producers. It began to be shopped in 2022 and then the writers strike happened. In addition to that trying to find venues to produce a stage play has been very difficult. There are a lot of people who don’t mean well in the business. The struggle is navigating those people but still keeping your fire for your art and not allowing circumstances to quench your blaze.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have big dreams, but dreams don’t keep the lights on.
I work day to day as an airline ground operations crew member as well as a fitness professional. Artistically I am a creative writer and thespian. I have written screen and stage plays, created game shows and I created and cohost a podcast with my sister.
I am most proud of two things. One of those is writing and producing my first stage The Other Side Of The Story. Which will be on stage Summer 2025 at the Hudson Theatre. In addition to that Im extremely proud of my Podcast Divine Soul that I cohost with my sister.
We love music and we have fun doing our episodes and it’s just great sibling bonding. You can feel the love and see the love and when I get DM’s about that it makes me very happy.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Wow favorite childhood memory is tough. I will go with scoring my first touchdown at nine years old. I still remember it and the joy I felt puts a smile on face still today.
