Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Altieri. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Acting and music have been in Joe’s blood since childhood. Onstage performances started at age seven and continued through High School. Theater productions and garage bands fueled his constant creative energy and laid the tracks for what would become a lifetime of expression.
As a singer-songwriter during the 80’s and 90’s, Joe performed music with his bands at venues all over the world. He enjoyed a publishing deal with Virgin Music America, as well as a record deal with Capitol Records in Hollywood.
Music led to Musical-theater, and that ignited his acting fire! In 1995. Joe was nominated for the Los Angeles Masque Award for Best Actor in a Comedy for his portrayal of Vito Antonucci in “P.S. Your Cat is Dead” at the Kentwood Theater.
As a character actor, Joe has the ability to find himself in any role he takes and then to bring that character to life in a way that inspires and impacts the viewer.
Although notorious for playing tough guys, Joe has a gentle nature that comes through in his portrayals of men from all walks of life. “Raw, real, gritty, and intense” are a few adjectives applied to Joe’s work; as well as “hilarious, quick, and possessing incredible comedic timing”.
“You can have the leading man, I’ll take the great character every time!” – Joe Altieri
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think life tends to get in the way of most things we’re trying to achieve. Almost as if life wants to test us, to make sure we’re willing to work as hard as it takes to get what we want. Acting is one of the hardest pads to walk. At least in so far as being successful and making a living at it. And there have been numerous times over the course of my acting career that I have wanted to put it down. But thankfully, the little voice inside keeps pushing me forward and keeps me believing that this is something I was meant to do.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I own and operate a Dog Boarding and rescue facility in the high desert above Los Angeles. Dogs are my passion and one of my true callings in this life. Mother Nature created no more noble creature on this planet than the dog. We humans, as a species, pale in comparison. I consider it an honor to serve and care for these amazing spirits.
How do you think about luck?
None. I don’t believe in luck. I believe in hardwork, dedication to tasks, and believing that if you put good energy into the world, you will be rewarded with good results in the end. No matter what….DON’T QUIT!
